[align=center]Summer break is coming to an end and the main five are going to be juniors. This is supposed to be the year that changed everything for them, but now we are changing it for them.[/align]

[align=left] Haley James and Lucas Scott are best friends, have been ever since they've been young kids. That all changes at the start of Summer Vacation. Haley tells Luke that she's going away to Europe for a family reunion, she's excited about it since she's the youngest of eight kids and wants to see her siblings again. Lucas' emotions build up and he kisses her just as she's leaving his house. One thing leads to another and the two best friends end up sleeping together. The next morning, Haley is on a flight to Europe while Lucas is left there to wonder what this all means. Does he really have feelings for Haley? Or was the night before all a big mistake?

Brooke Davis heads off to California for the summer. She wants to take the opportunity to have a real relationship with her parents. To no one's surprise, her parents are too busy fighting and working to spend even one second with their daughter. Brooke stole one of her father's credit cards and decided to go on a shopping spree, ending it with an expensive dinner and a few drinks at a bar. Her plans start to change when she meets an older guy by the name of Casey James. He's the third oldest sibling of Haley James, making him to be 23 years old and the only James relative skipping the European reunion. The two hit it off and spend the rest of the summer hanging out. Brooke learns to surf while Casey learns that there's a lot he doesn't know about Ms. Brooke Davis. The summer fling ends as Brooke returns to Tree Hill, but wait...what will happen when she discovers that her summer crush is the new assistant basketball coach? Will her lies catch up to her, or is this a 'forgive and forget, we're meant to be' kind of deal?

Peyton Sawyer spent the summer getting to know her birth mother, Ellie. She's learning all kinda of new things, like Ellie is dying of cancer and there's a chance that Peyton has it, too. Another thing, she's finally admitted to herself that she has feelings for Lucas Scott. When she's not with Ellie, she's with him. Will Lucas confess what happened with Haley? And if he does, how will Peyton react? She's lost everyone she cares about in her life, so you better expect her to hold on to Lucas. He's the one she's ready to surrender everything for.

Nathan Scott met a girl over the summer as well. He quit the basketball team after his father, Dan Scott, died of a heart attack. He found comfort in the arms of a waitress, Anna Matthews she also attends Tree Hill High, is a tutor alongside Haley, and a peer guidance counselor. She's always had a crush on Nathan but never felt good enough to talk to him. After two months of being inseparable, the two decide to get married. Deb Scott, like always, wants the best for her son and doesn't approve of the young marriage. Maybe she's just wanting to hold onto her son after losing her husband. Who knows? Nathan takes a part time job at his Uncle Kieth's garage to earn some money for an apartment.[/align]
