There was color. You could see it in the lightning. They toned it down as a tribute to the classic 1930s Frankenstein movie.

I'm confused about how this works. Rumple was colored in both lands, but Victor was colored in just one, while it appears that object retain their color, or lack there of? Or perhaps it only works one way. You can gain color, or retain it, but you can't lose color... I'll have to read some theories.
