Gotta go with S6-7 uniform. Ironically, for the longest time it was her early 7th season hairstyle that bugged me at first. But I got used to it, and started to like it. I really like her hair during the latter end of S7 too. Longer, more feminine.

I wasn't a big fan of her 7th season hair, although it got better toward the end. I actually liked her hairstyle in the 4th season, but I hated the reason they did it. They had just brought Worf on and were giving him lots of Kira scenes, and they wanted to 'feminize' Kira. That's also the season they gave her what I call the "Odo lobotomy" when she suddenly goes from intelligent and intuitive to brainless and oblivious. They also dressed her up in those ridiculous King Arthur costumes. It's no coincidence that's also the year she hooked up with Shakaar.

LOL True ... especially when you've got Dax twittering in her ear in "Crossfire", saying, "Shakaar is SO good-looking." Ugh! No, he's not, IMO.

Then again, of course, Kira didn't see Odo in his tuxedo yet. Kira was staring at him during their first date with this expression of, "WOW! Hel-lo!"

Interesting observation about the tux and Kira's reaction to seeing Odo in it. At some point in "His Way" Odo is pining away for Kira.

Vic: "Why the long face, buddy boy?"
Odo: "You still haven't told me what I'm supposed to do about Kira and Shakaar."
Vic: "Shakaar? Forget about that fink. I bet he doesn't look half as good in a tux as you do."
Odo: (with a look that dismisses Vic's commment as irrelevant) "What difference does that make?"

That snippet points out just how completely clueless Odo is when it comes to 'finding and winning his perfect mate.' As a Changeling, appearances don't matter because they can be changed in the blink of an eye. Odo doesn't love Kira for what she looks like - he loves her for who she is; and because appearances don't matter to Odo, he can't see how appearances *could* matter to Kira. But they do, at least in the beginning. You can see from the look on her face when she first sees Odo in that tux, she's thinking "Where have you been all my life?" And perhaps the beginning of her 'moment of clarity.'

And Bravo! to Kira for looking past the surface as well, first in "Chimera," and later when we get the death-bed scene in "Extreme Measures." When Kira moves to kiss Odo, he turns away, acknowledging that he probably isn't a very pretty sight, and Kira decisively responds "I don't care how you look."

I think the issue in "His Way" was that Shakaar was a handsome man with great charisma who was used to charming women. Here he was, unable to speak coherently (except on a friendly basis) to the one he wanted. He was aware that he still hadn't mastered humanoid faces, and with that lack of confidence, he was just *too* self-aware.

I loved that scene in Extreme Measures! She really lays one on him, too. You can see her heart breaking. He knows he looks like a soon-to-be dead Changeling, and it wounds his own pride that SHE has to see him that way. He doesn't want her pity ... or a "pity kiss." And her point is, "I love YOU...and I want to kiss you." As his lover, she gets full, sole, unconditional kissing rights, LOL! At first, he's surprised ... but he responds eagerly to it. He knows it's his last chance to touch her lips again -- because SHE's going off on a dangerous mission herself, and SHE might not come back either.
