The beat is normally the best.

Sometimes while listening to the lyrics in a song you're like "Er, okay..." or "Uhh...what the freak was that crap?", so it's normally the beat. But most of the times, the lyrics are good, so the beat and lyrics are the best. *Shrugs*

Both, usually... but my absolute favorites are usually songs with good lyrics. There's a few with good lyrics and alright beats mixed in amongst my favorites, so I chose lyrics.

For me, it doesn't matter what the lyrics are if it doesn't have a nice beat.

Lyrics are important, but I couldn't listen to song with genial lyrics but with a lame beat.

I think they're about equally important and value both, really. But sometimes the lyrics may be quite good...and yet they seem like words just strung together in a fashion that almost anyone could do, and the song sounds just like any other, unmemorable and hard to tell apart from others...I've always really been impressed that people are able to come up with unique, original, catchy melodies because it seems so difficult. So many are used up already! XD

And yeah, I'm no Miley fan, but "The Climb" is an awesome song. A few of her others are cool too. (But hey, odds are that any artist as popular as she is, albeit undeservingly imo, is gonna have at least ONE hit!)
