Oh, Lord Yesssssssssss!

It's the worst.

I've definitely had situations where a piece of music has brought back a bad memory, but I don't think it's actually caused me to dislike the music itself, so I'm not sure if that counts!

For example, some of the kids on my school bus in '99 and the early '00s were really rough, and we'd always have the radio on. So the songs that were in the charts back then bring back some unpleasant memories of the mean kids on the school bus. Even so, it didn't really change how I felt about the actual songs (though, I confess, I only liked a small amount of mainstream music back then anyway).

The worst thing is that my all time favorite song was my and my ex's song. >_< I still love it, but it's hard to listen to.

@glelsey That's kind of how I am. I've had it happen. I don't dislike the song however I can't really listen to the songs it the same way.

My experiences were with Nightwish's Lucid Dreamer, I still do, I just can't listen to it right anymore knowing it was the last song my beloved dog heard before she passed away. Nor can I listen to Alicia Keys' New Day without associating it with a car accident I was in.
