That's a really good theory, and I have dug up on the चोटी, शीर्ष of the nether but I was on Creative Mode so I dug up the layer of bedrock and as I remember it was like the texture of the bedrock down except आप could stand on it and there were mushrooms too! (sorry if this is way to long)
