But he deserves a girl more then Aragorn.
Honestly I think it's good he doesn't have a girlfriend in the book and movie.
It would change his unique character and mood.And at least we have a handsome boy to dream about.All Orlando's characters are taken so at least one is not and I'm glad it's Legolas because I looove him so much.

If you are book freak you should know that Legolas traveled with Gimli after the coronation of Aragorn and after Aragorn's death he left ME(again with Gimli, there was no any elf girl)so your idea sounds silly and cheap. Just idea to squeeze a girl next to Legolas because he is handsome so there must be a girl for him in the movie is as a said-silly, cheap and full of Hollywood crappy style and wouldn't make any sense since Legolas is known to be single. He doesn't have anyone in the book so it would be really strange if he had someone in the movie. Strange and stupid.
I've always seen Legolas as a freedom and adventures loving bachelor. Just because he is played by Orlando who has love interest in every movie he plays doesn't mean it would be fitting for Legolas to have someone. He isn't Will Turner.
It was already too much that there was so much of Aragorn/Arwen although there is almost nothing about their relationship in the book so to add fake girl character and hook her up with Legolas who isn't even a major character but support character would be a suicide for Peter Jackson. Besides LOTR isn't romantic book. It's mainly about the hobbit who has to take the ring to Mordor.
Peter Jackson isn't so dumb to create some fake girlfriend( LOTR already has too many characters so they had to miss some for the movie version-Glorfindel, Beregond, Bergil...) for Legolas. He knows it wouldn't fit into the movie. It wouldn't fit for Legolas' character and it would be against Tolkien canon and the way Tolkien meant Legolas to be. Also Legolas' is known to be Gimli's friend and they traveled together after the war and left Middle Earth together.
Legolas romance in the movie is just a dream of immature fangirls. Every LOTR and Tolkien fan know anything like that has no place in LOTR. There was a speculation he may have a romance in The Hobbit with that new invented elf character and fans got pretty angry and frustrated about it therefore Peter Jackson kindly announced there won't be any romance between those two. See Peter Jackson could add some romance for Legolas into The Hobbit but he is sane and he respects Tolkien and he understands Legolas' character and knows it wouldn't fit for him.
