Majora was the three goddesses' younger brother. He was the god of chaos, there to control the chaos that was made as the goddesses created the world. He did his job well, but felt like he wasn't getting any recognition for his deeds. After they departed into the heavens, leaving the Triforce at the point of their departure, Majora drew away. He knew that it wouldn't be him, but his sisters that got all the glory. He wasn't as 'important' because he didn't actually create the world.
If he had as much power as even one of his sisters had, then people would finally see him. But what if he had the power of all three combined? He would be stronger than any god in existence. His want for और power grew and grew, consuming him. He schemed, his sisters unaware of the plot that was brewing right under their noses.
It was only when he attempted to overthrow them with the power of chaos did the goddesses realize why he had drawn away for a time. Angered with him, they stripped him of his title, sealed him inside a mask, and cast him into an uninhabited world. Knowing that he would one दिन try to escape, they created a portal between the two worlds, and sealed away another mask: the Fierce Deity Mask, a mask that contained the spirit of a fierce warrior and fallen god. They also sent four deities to govern the land.
The goddesses knew that someday, a hero would come, and they could only hope and prepare the way for him to go and destroy Majora for good.
Hundreds of years passed. Many people had stumbled across the portal between the worlds, and the land—known now as Termina—began to prosper. A small settlement began to grow into what would later become Clock Town. But there were a people that lived in the land and formed a tribe; a tribe that bashed the three goddesses and worshiped the Four Deities, also known as the Four Giants of Termina.
They resided on the outskirts of Termina, in a place they named Ikana. They chose this place to live so they could live in peace without anyone else shunning them for what they believed in.
One day, as they were building their temple, they found a mask hidden in a sandy place. The tribe leader donned the mask, and was surprised to find that it contained a spirit, and that the spirit had power. How much power? They didn't know, but they didn't care. All they cared about was that they now had a weapon that only they knew about, and they hoped to keep it that way until the time came.
They used the mask in their hexing rituals. Anyone who accidentally came into their land was tortured and killed with the powers of Majora's Mask; they couldn't risk anyone telling about the mask. But the disappearances were arousing suspicion; all anyone knew was that anyone that went into Ikana never returned. There were whisperings of a strange curse placed द्वारा the tribe, and even of a monster.
Eventuality, after many years, the tribe finished the temple, which they claimed was taller than the mountains that laid in the north. It was true that it was tall; it could be seen from miles away, although the thought that it was taller than even the Snowhead Mountains was outrageous. It was made of stone, strange carvings carved into it, and odd statues were placed around. It was built in the Four Deities', and later in in the construction, Majora's honor. They gave sacrifices in the highest part of the temple, hoping it would please the Giants.
Every year, someone would wear the mask and make a wish for the tribe, hoping that Majora would grant their wish and bless the tribe. Majora only did this because he felt himself growing much stronger everyday, feeding off of their negative emotions towards the rest of Termina's residents. He knew he only had to do what the tribe wanted for a short time, and then he could escape. He just needed the perfect host that had और negative energy than anyone else.
That time came when it was a young boy's turn to wear the mask. As soon as the mask was placed upon his face, Majora knew this was the one. He took complete control over the child, racking havoc and chaos throughout the land, killing anyone who got in his way. But he realized too late that he was killing the child in the process, tapping too far into the boy's life force. With his host now dead, he knew he had लॉस्ट his chance.
The tribe, having found the boy dead still wearing the mask, unanimously decided that it would be best for everyone if the mask was sealed away again. And so, they hid the mask deep within the depths of the stone temple, sealing it away for what they hoped would be an eternity. The tribe left Ikana, and soon became only a faint memory.
Majora seethed with rage inside the mask, knowing that he had been too eager and tried to escape too quickly. He knew that it could be centuries, या even millennia before another chance came to escape.
True to his assumption, it would be about two centuries later. द्वारा then, Termina was a thriving land, full of many creatures and people. Clock Town was now a large town. The townspeople were preparing to celebrate the Carnival of Time, which was created to pay homage to the giants and pray to them for a successful year.
A mysterious man known as the Happy Mask Salesman came into Termina that year, for what reason, no one knew. He usually stayed around the Ikana Canyon area, which was now a barren desert, due to Majora's antics many years before.
Little did anyone know that the salesman was actually searching for the ancient artifact of Majora's Mask, although his true intentions for the dangerous artifact were unknown. He found his way into the Stone Tower Temple, and found the mask buried many feet under the sand.
He was returning to Hyrule with the mask when he was ambushed द्वारा a Skull Kid and two fairies. The imp चुरा लिया the mask and became Majora's host. But this time, Majora knew better than to take complete control over his host's actions. Instead, he whispered what he wanted the imp to do, but he made it to where it looked like he was helping the imp get revenge on his friends, the Four Giants, who had 'abandoned' the imp to sleep in the four corners of the land. "They left you," Majora hissed. "They only pretended to be your friends. Take them and सील, मुहर them away into monsters. Aren't they monsters anyway, for what they did to you?"
The imp did whatever Majora said, causing mischief and mayhem all over Termina, whether it be small, like stealing Zoras' eggs, to something like killing a Deku Scrub child. The Skull Kid thought he had finally found a true friend, but what he didn't know is that Majora's intentions weren't to help the imp, but to help himself escape.
He tapped into the Skull Kid's memories to see if he knew where the portal between the worlds was; fortunately for Majora, he did. He told the imp to go to the portal. He crept through the portal and into Hyrule. It was when Majora saw the boy clad in green that he felt that he had made a mistake. He felt the presence of the Triforce, and that he instantly knew that this was the hero that the goddesses intended to have destroy him. He also felt an important item was with the boy. He told the imp to steal the precious item that the boy had (the Ocarina of Time) and went back through the portal to Termina.
When the boy followed him through the portal, Majora cursed him into the form of a Deku Scrub, and continued on his way.
He felt that now was the time to prepare the demise of the land. He used his powers to bring the moon out of orbit and set it above Clock Town, where it would crash and destroy everything in three days time. Then he sat on the चोटी, शीर्ष of the clock tower and waited. If the mask was destroyed, Majora could escape before his spirit was also destroyed and make his way back to Hyrule.
What he didn't expect was to have the boy, restored to his original form, face him hours before the moon was to fall. In his hand was the Ocarina of Time. Both the imp and Majora were shocked. They weren't expecting this. Enraged, Majora caused the moon to fall faster.
They heard the loud call of one of the Giants, and that was when Majora felt his grip on the Skull Kid slip. He sucked as much of the life force and every negative emotion out of the imp, knowing that he had only a few मिनटों before he had to escape या be destroyed.
The Giants were able to hold the moon up and prevent its decent, even if it was for a short time. The Skull Kid had fainted due to Majora taking most of his life force away. Detaching himself from the imp, he flew into the moon, taunting the hero to follow him. Majora intended to rid himself of this nuisance who had stopped his plans. How he managed to do it was a mystery to the deity, but he felt that it had something to do with the Ocarina that he had somehow gotten back from him.
He took his time, wanting to have a little fun with his victim before annihilating him. He gave him the Fierce Deity Mask, hoping to kill two birds with one stone; kill the goddesses' chosen one and the fallen god they sent to aid the hero. He felt that he was strong enough to destroy the Fierce Deity, although he was beginning to have सेकंड thoughts. He quickly cleared them from his mind; if he had सेकंड thoughts, he wouldn't be able to focus and he wouldn't win. He had to win. He had to.
Unfortunately, he wasn't as strong as he had assumed. With the power of the deity, the hero easily defeated Majora. Before he was completely destroyed, Majora used the last of his power to teleport to Ikana, preventing his death. His ties to the mask had been destroyed, and he was now somewhat free. But he was very weak, and even if he could get to Hyrule, he would be helpless against his sisters. So now he waits, slowly gaining strength, waiting for the time to strike with the power of a revengeful god.
If he had as much power as even one of his sisters had, then people would finally see him. But what if he had the power of all three combined? He would be stronger than any god in existence. His want for और power grew and grew, consuming him. He schemed, his sisters unaware of the plot that was brewing right under their noses.
