David Birrell has filed a lawsuit against The Donmar Warehouse in London’s High Court over an onstage mishap when his character’s replica revolver misfired during a performance of “Passion” द्वारा Stephen Sondheim in October 2010, leaving Birrell with “total and permanent blindness.”

Birrell’s attorneys say that the actor was left with a “shrunken and unsightly eye” and other vision problems. They say his employment prospects have also been affected.
