There is no chacter complexaty! Ther chacter characteristics stay the same every book! What evolution! Harry Potter has 7 years, 7 books, Twilight has 4 months and 4 books!

First, Bella has no emotions, second, you spelled fear wrong, third, Harry Potter has action, love, comedy, suspense. Your veiw is obstructed.

Ron was Hermione's first love but when he left she didnt basically die or become suicidal! She was very sad but still helped Harry hunt the Horcroxuses!!!

Of course being depressed isn't healthy. That's why people seek treatment and don't celebrate it.
Bella didn't make depression look like a healthy thing... It's part of the story.

It wasn't promoted. It wasn't displayed as a good thing. Everyone was worried about her. Charlie threatened to send her to a doctor, her friends ignored her, Bella herself said she was going crazy.

That's like saying the Harry potter series promotes locking children in closets underneath stairs.

Harry didn't like to be locked in closet but Bella herself decided to ignore everything else and suicide even when she could do differently. Has SMeyers ever said that it was bad

But Bella's depression is something that girls can follow if they want. No person would read HP and then go shut themselves in a closet. But girls could read Twilight and when their boyfriend leaves them, do the same thing as Bella b/c of the influence. And the thing about Bella's depression that bothers people the most is the fact that it makes girls look weak. And not all of us are like Bella but b/c of Twilight some people do believe that we girls are. I have been told by a classmate that girls are weak b/c he watched New Moon. That got me very mad and made me dislike Twilight even more.

And like daughterofdeath said, Harry didnt have a choice. He was forced to be shut in a closet. Bella chose to become depressed and not move on w/ life.

You're incorrect. Bella only ignored everyone for three months. After that, she began to try to deal with her problems. It wouldn't be depression if she dealt with it right away.

Harry didn't do anything about being locked up all the time for 11 years. Are we supposed to blame him for that? No. Has JKR ever said "It's bad to lock children in closets"? Not that I know of, but she doesn't need to. It wasn't presented as a good thing in the books either.

Depression is not something a person can be influenced into by a book.. It's something that happens inside of you, mentally. You can't become depressed on purpose.

^I have heard of many girls who did crazy things b/c they read about it in Twilight. I will try to find this news article a read a few months back about a girl who believed she would see visions of her ex b/c Bella did. She broke something in the attempt of doing whatever she was doing to see the visions. I dont remember exactly what it was. The girl was 12 years old and a very good kid and student but Twilight just influenced her in such a way. And depression is fine in books. I just dont like the way it was portrayed in Twilight...

Okay, depression isn't good (we know that for sure) but if Bella were to behave the way she did for a more rational reason then I would be able to relate to her better. She did all those things for a guy that she knew for about 4 months. No girl should ever behave that way for a man. It gives us a bad reputation. Bella was too young for that. She was only 18 and had too much in her life to look forward to. Harry's depression stage (during Order of the Phoenix) was for a rational reason (witnessing a friend die, having no one believe you, being no. 1 undesirable, knowing that a man that's wanted you dead for years is on the loose, and having your mind controlled by him plaguing your brain with disturbing thoughts that could drive you into insanity...) and Harry didn't do HALF of the things that Bella did. He didn't ignore his friends, he didn't jump off cliffs, and he wasn't rude to people trying to help him. I see where you're going at Cassie and I agree with it. If Bella acted the way she did for about a week or two then I'd feel bad. But Bella overreacted. She needed to get over it...

^Perfectly stated! Good job:) I expected Bella to be depressed but 4 months is a bit much... And yes Harry went through a lot too but he handled it very well for what happened. He was mad and depressed but he continued with his life even though it took awhile for him to get over it. He didnt just ruin his life over it...
