It just would not work, harry would be distracted and they'd argue about being able to protect eachother and ladidah. Also, Hermione and Ron were fighting quite a bit, and then Ron left... 	LowriLorenza89 picked No way!: The story is supposed to be more about Harry's friendship with Ron and Hermione than his romantic relationship with Ginny, which is why they were the ones to accompany him in the final book.
