I remember visiting this website once...
It was called The stars of Game of Thrones hit the Golden Globes red carpet | Watchers on the दीवार | A Game of Thrones Community for Breaking News, Casting, and Commentary
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
came out for the 73rd Golden Globe Awards, currently underway in Beverly Hills, California. The annual live celebration, airing on NBC, honors the best of film and television from 2015. Emilia Clarke, Natalie Dormer and more past and present co-stars walked the red carpet, showing off their fashions and preparing to support
First off, there was the usual flurry of preparation and hurrying off to the ceremony:
Guess where this lady’s a headin….. No not Walmart. #afewhoursdaysweeksandsomwserioustalentlaterandshesreadyforacarpetofred #orjust4supremelyfabulouspeople @kystyle @sabrinabmakeup a go go 💓 #goldenglobes2016
‘s Edmure Tully, was up for Best Supporting Actor for his role on
Natalie Dormer offered up a quick soundbite from the red carpet, regarding Jon Snow:

this is as awesome as that time Gandalf told harry the force was strong with him at the Red Wedding
on a serious note though Pascal is so funny and people should really just stop asking the JON question … for hodors sake hes on the poster and in the teaser
Emilia and Natalie look lovely as ever. And now I’m oobsessing over Amanda Peet’s dress.
I really hope to see Emilia’s dress in motion. I have a feeling it’s one of those dresses that isn’t done justice in a still photograph.
I was surprised at how few of the actors came this time, compared to last year. Granted, the show is highly unlikely to win, given the lack of nominations overall, but the Globes are such a legendarily fun party. Natalie looks gorgeous.
I guess we’ll have to wait for SAG at the month’s end for a large cast gathering.

Well that was that,at least Outlander didn’t win . Also this show almost put me to sleep,it was unbearable . Oh and apparently Lady Gaga won some award because she is an actress now,ok .
Yeah. It’s not like they’re going to say anything groundbreaking.
I told y’all Mr Robot would win. Really though, It’s a great show, I strongly urge everyone to check it out
The Golden Globes have a habit of awarding the hot new show/actors. Mr. Robot was a big deal this year, so I’m not that surprised.
Always next year Thrones, there’s always next year. here’s Hoping next season is the best one yet
, but it gets consistently strong buzz amongst critics and discerning viewers, so I should make a point of seeing it at some point.
And Mr.Robot wins.. Personally thought Narcos would. Oh well.. 100something days until S6 hits!

Natalie makes me gawk at every glance. She’s pretty much the reason why I didn’t fall asleep during Mockingjay p2..
Also the HFP has a hard on for some show that i never heard of Mozart in the desert or some shit .
Emilia’s dress is gorgeous ( she’s probably sick of white!), but Natalie’s looks like a large letter ‘T’. Ah well, she wins in so many ways!
Watched the first episode, didn’t care for it,i also had the same reaction for Person of Interest, another show that is pretty similar and was widely praised but i couldn’t get into it,these type of shows just aren’t for me .
Really – watch Mr Robot. Well worth the time. At least this year they didn’t award Downton Abbey (again).
I enjoyed Mr. Robot. Glad Outlander didn’t win at least.
Oh, and here’s a vote for Amanda Peet to portray LS. Is she too old?
Yeah, even if Mr Robot is not my cup of tea,i’m still satisfied it won over that overrated pile of junk.i admit it also has to do with the fact that particular show was a SJW favorite and crushing their hopes is great for me .
Absolutely blasphemous, Game of Thrones is without a doubt the best show on TV.
Well that was that,at least Outlander didn’t win . Also this show almost put me to sleep,it was unbearable . Oh and apparently Lady Gaga won some award because she is an actress now,ok .
Gaga actually performed really well in AHS:Hotel.. It’s not totally undeserved, but she should’ve taken Ricky’s cue on the crying bit..

Mozart in the Jungle, and it’s a very funny show in the more smaller things, not over the top stuff. What’s with your negativity?
Also, Jlaw’s lovehandle cut outs, Katy Perry’s poodlehair and what was Jane Fonda thinking..
Maybe they just wanted to gaze upon his gorgeousness (not to say him winning was undeserved, just…daaaamn).
Love handle cut outs? I wasn’t paying attention, but in the spirit of passing along utterly pointless “knowledge,” we don’t call ’em love handles in Kentucky. We call ’em “Kentucky Tubeage,” or at least we did when I was growing up there.
Well i am glad Game of Thrones didnt win at this point. This show is such a joke its hilarious. Everything bad / mediocre wins. Like great stuff gets nominated but they never actually win. Hollywood foreign press clearly cant be taken seriously as opposed to Emmy voters. HBO actually did win award for Show me a Hero which i thought was the most boring show on HBO this year (and that includes the Brink). Also… since when is the Martian a COMEDY. That is surely the joke? (I did like that movie but it isnt a comedy…)
The total absence of the cast of GOT says it all. People who were in US already showed up but no one took the problem of crossing the Pond for this.
I’ve never watched MrRobot but I’ve heard of it. I actually heard mostly not good stuff.
I’ve seen a few early episodes of Outlander but Can never find it on tv. Is it not good?

I didn’t like it. Particularly the second half of the season. The last 2 episodes went overboard with the rape.
Lol, Ricky going out on another Mel Gibson jab. He is the only reason to watch the Golden Globes.
Sure ended abruptly though.. Did Harrison Ford even get to say anything? Did I blink and miss it? That poor guy was still doing his improv speech and shamballs! “That’s a wrap!”.
Final note, who else was distracted by Julianne Moore’s dress? I agree that in Mockingjay 2, she fell into the background with those clothes and grey hair, but this was the extreme opposite..
Oh, and when Leo was holding his speech, you could see Katy in the frontrow trying her best not to look at him as if they just broke up and this was a totally awkward, but otherwise unavoidable situation.. Like Theon watching Sansa..
I ve just watched the first 5 episodes of Mr Robot over the weekend, and I cant get myself to finish this first series. It is like a fight club meets V for vengeance, now with hackers and drugs. I can still find something to like about that type of story line, but they completely lose me with the 20 minute plus hallucination sequences.
It just seems like this show is trying to hard to be intellectual and hipster, it is a bit self indulgent in my opinion. But different people like different things, I can perhaps see how people might enjoy all of the social media and technical plots in the show. But I just couldn’t finish the series, I ended up finishing a season of Fargo instead. Perhaps I will try to finish it at some point.
lel so many people being salty about Mr Robot just because it won over GOT.
won. A good show–quirky characters, a plot that requires the watcher to pay attention. Rami Malek is hauntingly good.
. I am a fan of the books and am pleasantly surprised at how well that they have adapted them to the screen. The casting is great-as good as GoT-and the sets are perfect. The last two episodes of season 1 were VERY hard to take, but that is not a surprise to anyone who has read the books. Yes, they were disturbing and graphic. So were the scenes as written by Diana Gabaldon, and my imagination was far worse than anything that can be shown on television. Much like Sansa’s wedding night, I just don’t get the outrage here. It wasn’t tasteless-no porn shots-but it was visceral and real and disturbing, which is true to the story it portrays.
In all of these award shows for the last year, it is a bit of a shame, in my opinion, that Justified wasn’t nominated for anything in their last season. The show had a strong ending, and it was mostly good throughout their 6 seasons.
The show had great actors and often great guest actors as well. They also had some interesting characters and good dialog. I will really miss Justified this year.
Congratulations to Mr Robot and all the nominees, actually pretty shocked Fargo didn’t win anything. oh well, Game of Thrones, there’s always next Year buddy.
I watched the first two episodes over the Xmas holiday because USA was doing a marathon. Too bad it was already late and I went to bed. I was enjoying it. Was a little concerned at first, since so much of the main character’s voice over – his world view – seemed like it was taken from the latest Russell Brand political rant, but it got better as it went along.
Al Swearengen: lel so many people being salty about Mr Robot just because it won over GOT.
People just like different things. All of these shows are very different in nature. GoT and Outlander for example are almost complete opposites to something like Mr Robot. We dont all have to like the same things.
Emilia’s dress looked like a goth caftan fishing net. Just terrible.
Darn, I watched the preshows, on 2 channels, flipping back and forth, and most of the broadcast, and didn’t catch even a glimpse of anyone from GoT. Not D&D and their pretty wives (In the picture you have upthread, both wives are beautiful, I had never seen Dan’s wife before. ) Not Emilia or Natalie, not Pedro or Sean. Not a peek, even in the shots when the cameras panned the audience. Until I came on here, I thought no one from GoT showed up to this. So thanks for the pictures.
Tobias Menzies’ acting in Outlander was phenomenal. I’m sorry that he didn’t win.
I will be shocked if Game of Thrones wins any GGs in the future. That is not a knock against GOT, it is just what the GGs are.
135 awards and 268 nominations is still legendary through 5 Seasons
Nothing for The Leftovers huh? That’s okay too I guess
I never said they did. The last couple episodes of Outlander was pretty brutal to get through, made Ramsay having his with with Sansa look extremely tame in comparison.
BTW I completely agree about Justified. “We dug coal together” Dem feels.
They need to wrap up in 8 seasons. Seems to me some of the cast is losing interesting rapidly. Small turnout for this show compared to previous years. Saw some Natalie Dormer interviews for her latest movie. And while she was of course polite, she was not overly enthused being asked GoT questions. And before people go off on me, I want to emphasize I did not say they hate the show, or don’t want to be on the show, or are tired of the show. I said in my opinion some are losing interest, which is not an outrageous statement and would also follow historical pattern of highly successful TV shows. After a certain period the cast’s fame grows, they receive other opportunities and are ready to try other things. This is rather common and I’m quite sure is part of the reason D&D are looking for the exit.
Though having to contract with the cast for an 8th season could bring some tense times. Which too would follow historical precedence of tension.

That line is one of the greatest of all time. I miss that show already.
I wouldn’t worry about Game Of Thrones losing the Golden Globe too much. The Globes have always been a bit of a joke. The nominations can basically be bought and / or handed out based on celebrity status of nominees vs. quality of performances. They also make a lot of questionable calls regarding drama vs. comedy grouping (for example, “The Martian”, while surprisingly funny and oftentimes hilarious, is NOT a comedy) and which performances go in lead vs. supporting categories. Also, they’re not a terribly great indicator of who will win in the bigger, more respected (Oscars and Emmys) award shows. Basically, it’s an excuse to have a fun party with drunk celebrities and put it on TV.
That being said, Game of Thrones doesn’t need to win every award and I am grateful for the attention that this win will give Mr. Robot, one of my favorite (full disclosure, I’m a computer programmer and this show presents the most accurate depiction of hacking and tech I’ve seen to date in the media) shows of the last year. When Season 2 rolls around this summer, a win like this will bring a lot of well-earned attention to the show. Just because I like Game of Thrones the most doesn’t mean I have to trash everything else.
Sad they didn’t win, but to be fair I haven’t seen Mr. Robot. Seems I should!
Emilia gave fierce side boob and I loved it.
I’ve had a girl crush on Amanda Peet since forever. Loved the merlot lips.
I’m falling back in love with Natalie Dormer thanks to a Netflix marathon of The Tudors (also sighted: Ser Barristan!). Gorgeous, although I’m not used to seeing her in such bold color choices!
All the GoT men all have that stupid ability to look dapper in suits of any sort. Good on ya gents.
Or maybe you’re the one overprojecting because the show is still as popular as ever and no amount of dumb butthurt from book purists like yourself could ever do anything to hurt it .
…I am grateful for the attention that this win will give Mr. Robot, one of my favorite (full disclosure, I’m a computer programmer and this show presents the most accurate depiction of hacking and tech I’ve seen to date in the media) shows of the last year….
Oh! I’m glad to “hear” you say that as I have always wondered how accurate a picture the show presents of the hacker world. Cool to know. Thanks!
I’m not a hacker, but I do work in web security as part of my job and it’s very detailed and realistic in how actual hacking works, which means that they actually cared to get that aspect of the show correct, as opposed to something like “Hackers” where a “kid who is good at computers” taps on a keyboard for 10 seconds and cracks the Pentagon. lol Social engineering, packet-sniffing, using insecure secondary systems to access secure primary systems, etc. All legit and presented accurately.
the entire GOT cast has never gone to the golden globes. just wait till the SAG’s, most of the cast will show up for that
Ah well, you can’t win them all, and I’m intruiged enough now to give Mr. Robot a try.
On the movie front. I tried watching Reverant twice, and fell asleep on both occasions. It must be me, since it gets universal acclaim, but I couldn’t find anything interesting about that story. That said, it surely was better than MM Fury Road – how the heck did that film ever get nominated? It had even less story than the recent Star Wars!
*The Revenant <– goes to show how much that movie could capture my attention…
There is always the last season, thats when all the awards come.
Ho hum. If I wasn’t watching football I may have tuned in just to see the “Chubby Little Loser” do his thing.
Mad Max was likely nominated for the simple reason that it is a masterfully put together film. To further understand, you can read any of the literally hundreds of positive reviews and articles discussing it in much greater depth than I can.
A simple story is not always a negative if it effectively serves what the film is aiming to be.
Let me guess, that is also held in Los Angeles right? Figures.
Tried watching Mr.Robot but it just wasn’t my thing. Congratulations anyway.
Putting The Martian under ”comedy” was a complete joke tough..
