\'Game of Thrones\' Alfie Allen now signs autographs with a \'willy\'
Game of Thrones has been added to your favorites.
RIP, Theon\'s penis, you had a good run. "Game of Thrones\'" resident traitor-turned-torture victim Theon Greyjoy might have had plenty of terrible things happen to him in Season 4, but it\'s the character getting his "willy" cut off in the show\'s Season 3 finale that actor Alfie Allen finds guys bring up to him most often.
"It\'s funny -- when I talk to fans and talk to people about it, it\'s only ever men that mention that. Women never mention it, it\'s only ever guys. That\'s kind of understandable, but it\'s funny. I never really thought that signing an autograph and then putting a little willy next to it would make people so happy," Allen tells Zap2it while promoting the "Game of Thrones" Season 4 Blu-ray release. "I should just make my signature a willy, and that\'s it."
Theon has been the victim/plaything of Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) for going on two full seasons as "Game of Thrones" enters Season 5. Even though his sister Yara Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan) mounted a rescue attempt in Season 4, Allen says Theon is "fully Ramsay\'s creature," and probably didn\'t even recognize Yara when he saw her.
The penis-less Theon, who now goes by "Reek" at Ramsay\'s insistence, is dedicated to the service of his master. Allen feels people should be able to find humanity in this very humbled version of Theon, who in Season 2 infamously betrayed his formed friend Robb Stark to earn his father\'s Balon\'s affection and then burned down his one-time home Winterfell.
"I always feel that people should be able to relate to him because he makes mistakes, and that\'s something that I think everyone can relate to," he says. "My scenes, the torture scenes, are meant to make the audience feel sort of uncomfortable. I always get a lot of people saying to me, \'Man, your scenes are so great but I just can\'t watch any of them\' [
laughs], so that makes me giggle quite a bit. Essentially I\'m just thankful that they have decided to keep me there and keep me alive, if just by a thread. It\'s great to still be around and be a central part of it."
In losing his penis, Allen says Theon/Reek lost a "big part of his identity ... his only weapon within that world." Before being captured by Ramsay, Theon was seen having sex with the prostitute Ros, had an affair with a captain\'s wife and even felt up his own sister before he knew they were related. Allen says if Reek ever turns back into Theon, he\'ll be "humbled" and changed because he won\'t have his sexuality to guide him.

"I think maybe he just wants to be loved and that\'s kind of what he was searching for when he was searching for his father\'s approval in taking down Winterfell and proving to his father he can please him," he says. "I guess maybe searching for love without that sort of physical aspect of it would be something quite beneficial to him, and he\'d discover a whole new world of intimacy that he hadn\'t discovered before."
It\'s hard to imagine life getting darker for Theon, but Allen says he would be open to showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss going "even more dark with him and put[ting] him through even more pain and torture" -- even though he as a fan hopes for some redemption for the character. That said, there might be some hope for Theon/Reek in Season 5.
"In terms of what may happen further on down the line and will he go back to Theon one day, I can\'t really give you an answer," he says. "But I can tell you there may be some sort of light at the end of the tunnel this year -- but in a very \'Game of Thrones\' fashion."
