Silverrose1991 picked Pocahontas:
She's wise, knows how to walk around and hide in the woods and has a talent for words, but I dont remember her being particularly intelligent besides that. I mean, when Smith was taken as a prisoner, she didn't stand up for him until Grandmother Willow stepped in with the pep talk.

UnholyNoise picked Belle:
Pocahontas was wise at least, and could see the potential in John Smith before anybody else could. That counts as a form of intelligence to me. Also I got the impression that she usually knew what to do, but often needed to be motivated into doing it by someone else.

BATB is pretty much a series of Belle's not-smart decisions, and she doesn't seem to learn much from her books either, despite reading all the time. She should've been genre-savvy enough to know she was basically living out the plot of her favorite book.

^LOL!
Belle is smart enough to read books in her times. Belle is smart enough to understand what lies under the skin of Gaston, despite the entire village woman drooling over him. Belle is smart enough to find her father. Belle is smart enough to think of an alternative that would save her father's life by taking his place. Belle is smart enough to crack Beast's upper layer of anger and frustration which apparently no one could manage.
BATB is a series of Belle's smart decision again and again, until the last moment when she thought she was making a wise decision by choosing her father over Beast. I can bet that people have stared in the eyes of the love of their lives and have walked away, not knowing how to trust it. That's not the case of not being intelligence, that's called not being courageous.

Snow White was told not to let any strangers in, yet she indulged in one, despite having her life in grave danger twice.

audreygrace412 picked Elsa:
I think Snow White is emotionally smart and street smart, if nothing else. She seemed pretty aware of what others were feeling and she used deductive reasoning to find the most logical answer. (I don't blame her for not knowing about dwarves.)

Rapunzel and Ariel, although they seem to be readers, never get a chance to show any kind of book smart and neither seemed emotionally smart as they didn't seem to pick up on what others around them were feeling. As far as street smart and IQ smart, it seems like both had a high IQ as they were very intellectually curious despite lack of opportunity (or abundance of obstacles) and were able to really think quickly on their feet when they needed to, in order to survive.

I don't recall seeing Elsa show any kind of intelligence but rather obedience and isolation. Some of her smart decisions were made based on impulsive emotions, not actually thinking it out but got lucky.

^^ I agree that Belle is also very book smart, people smart shown by her interactions with Gaston etc, very intellectually curious and ahead of the curve of knowledge compared to her peers.

^^ i agree, Snow is emotionally smart and that's why so capable to handle the home but i won't say she's street smart. I think Rapunzel is street smart, changing and adapting to the situation at hand. Snow isn't able to do that. What would you say?

audreygrace412 picked Elsa:
^ I agree Snow White is not street smart, that is why I think it was even smarter of her to immediately ask the forest animals (aka experts of the forest) if they knew a safe spot for her. She really did think on her feet quickly for being so young and naive. I agree with what you said about Rapunzel. Snow White has a niche and plays to her strength to be the strongest team player she can be. Rapunzel, on the other hand, has a more eclectic taste and I do think is more adaptable than Snow White. :)

She'd nearly been killed by someone earlier in the film so you'd think she wouldn't be opening the door to and taking food from strangers, especially after being told not to do so.

Silverrose1991 picked Pocahontas:
Okay, seeing as Snow White is going to be eliminated this round, may I just "defend her" quickly?

Yes, she was told to not let a stranger in the house. Yes, she disobeyed, Yes, "she got herself killed" (quite a bit of victim blaming going on in this wording, but it is one I've seen used before). But she actually did suspect the crone, and was very reluctant to let her in or accept the apple she offered - she just did after the woman had been attacked by the birds (admittedly, when they say her motioning as if to take the apple). It was a moment where her kindness won against her better judgment. She even seems to regret it later: when the old woman is back on her feet and offering to repay her kindness, there is a unmistakable expression of fear on her face as she backs against the wall; it is overcome when the "wishing apple" is mentioned - and as someone said before, frankly, if the well had seemingly worked for her, why shouldn't this?.

I, for one, can hardly reprimand her for a charitable action, even if it was an unwise and risky move of her part.
