Hi guys! Sorry this is a bit late but I was having computer problems. Anyways, this is based entirely on comments, so please take the 30 seconds to comment! If you don't interpret the moral as it says above, I'm so sorry, but I can't please everyone.:( If you have any questions ask!

Ok, I love this moral...if only it were true. It is a sweet and lovely moral, but it doesn't at all apply to real life.

This one isn't true. Not for EVERY occurrence anyway. Love doesn't conquer problems, but it sure helps so I have to go with Cinderella's moral.

The problem with this one is that not everyone falls in love. Plus, there are aromantics who don't want to. I feel like there are better, more empowering morals that don't just emphasize the idea that love is the only goal in life.

wavesurf picked Never lose sight of what is really important! (The Princess and the Frog):
This moral is a blanket statement, and ANYBODY can interpret it whichever way they like. Basically, saying "Never lose sight of what is really important" is extremely vague... What is really important to people varies so widely as to render this moral an excuse to reinforce what people already appreciate. I'll never lose sight of the goal I have in mind--- which is? ANYTHING! Money, marriage, ambition, family, love, autonomy, a mansion, etc. Anything that pleases, this statement could be used to explain "why" the person is quote-in-quote "right" about pursuing that activity. A moral should have substance, and not be simply a set of words anyone can utter to "console" themselves about their choices.

SB didn't say it had to be romantic love. Remember Frozen? It also never says it's the only goal (not that there's anything bad about it).

Anyway, this or Aladdin's. Both are incredibly vague and generic. But Tangled doesn't do anything new.

Staying optimistic isn't always realistic or healthy.

Cool idea for a countdown!
Anyway, I'm going with this one. I agree with what Robin_Love said, and I don't really think this is the moral of the movie to begin with.

I hope either this one or Cinderella's leaves, because they're both sort of false. Not everyone is rewarded for their kindness, and true love doesn't fix everything.

I don't like the idea of being kind just for the sake of getting something in return.

It's nice in terms of the movie, but in real life? Eh.

It's such a cliche and excludes other kinds of love. For once I would like to see a DP movie in which love takes hard work, that it's not all roses and dancing in the woods, that there will be times that you argue. But despite everything you still love that person--flaws and all. Fairy tale movies are getting more advanced with their morals and I think kids could stand to see that "true love" is at best, a nebulous concept.

I hate to come off as rude but I think sometimes people read way too deep into these movies. These movies do not represent real life. I don't know anyone my age (I'm 21) that believes True love conquers all. When was a kid I never thought that deep into these movies but I'm a guy so maybe I'm not the right person to ask about these things. When I watch Disney movies, I don't look for morales, I use Disney movies as escapism from violence that goes on in the real world. If someone actually believes everything they see or hear not just in Disney but in movies in general, I think that person is an idiot. I'm sorry for this long post. I have very strong opinions when it comes to anything that has to do with Disney.

@disneymagic93 I'm sorry you don't like the idea of this countdown. Some people do look for morals in these movies. Please respect that, and if you don't like it, ignore and don't participate in this countdown.

@reflection11 That's fine. I'm sorry if my post was rude. It wasn't my intention. I just think people have to keep in mind that films like Snow White & Sleeping Beauty came out in a time when values & beliefs were different & people can't apply these films to todays standards.

Yeah, not likely! This gets subverted so often in real life, that it seems like this is more the exception than the rule. And like Aang Lite said, it's kind of sketchy to pushing a moral about being kind as a means to an end, instead of being kind because it's what you're supposed to be doing.

Sleeping Beauty's moral is second-worst imo.

Mostly because I think Hunchback delivered this message better. Cinderella's message is also very vague.

(And I thought Tangled's message was "follow your dreams!")
