	ppgbelle4 picked No: I always assumed that he just never did like them, maybe due to old stories passed down from generation to generation in his family and also because of their lifestyle with fishing and hunting. It was explained pretty well in "Under the Sea" and the series imo. For some reason, before the third movie, I always assumed Ariel's mother died in childbirth.
