An awkward introvert loner and a bubbly extrovert who needs to be liked might not know how to relate to one another. I think Rapunzel would mostly like Tiana but I'm not sure the feeling would be mutual. Then again, maybe she'd see some of Lottie in her.

Not the way Mulan is. It felt forced to me. And clearly it's not enough to stop her from being popular since every single person she meets loves her.
