to clarify like-- I figured the spell/Rapunzel's hair wouldn't work if they were ACTUALLY dead. I just figured Flynn had passed out and lost enough energy to stay awake (was still definitely dying but hadn't died yet). Same for Beast.

I like to believe that it was really high magic.

But my opinion is a little different; I think that Flynn was actually dead and that the beast was nearly so.

I mean Rapunzel was crying for a while, long enough for him to die eve if he initially passed out. Beast is a little different, but he probably died too then was brought back to life.

Since Rapunzel's power I specifically healing though and not life I'd then argue that he was probably passed out then. Beast's magic is different since it's an Enchantress's magic that can do anything and maybe brought him back to live, but he was out for significantly shorter amount of time. Enchantress never said heal wounds would come with transforming back into being human though, so one could assume she healed him as a bonus, so I don't really know.

yeah, Rapunzel's power is healing, not restoring life. as for beast, the enchantress never said he would die if he didn't become human again, just remain a beast forever, so I'm guessing her magic would still work.

For me it's a mixture. I think Flynn was resurrected but the Beast maybe wasn't fully "gone" yet..

I think they were both on the verge of dying. They would have had severe haemorrhagic shock, I'm not sure of the exact internal damage they had but probably beyond anything other than a magical cure considering how quickly they were deteriorating.
