Out of only the official Disney Princesses and not counting the Frozen princesses, the only one that I dislike is Merida. Well, actually dislike is putting it mildly because I absolutely DESPISE Merida! She's rude, spoiled, selfish, feels like her happiness is more important than the well-being of others, basically tried to poison her mother, felt like she had the right to change who her mother was, is poorly developed, is the only Disney Princess I would describe as mean-spirited, throws food on the ground and knocks things over for her hardworking servants to pick up after like the inconsiderate b*tch she is (Which no one calls her out for in real life or in the movie), has no problem almost running her servants over with her horse without so much as an apology, when her mother is in pain from the cursed cake is only concerned about the marriage and not her mother's well-being, is a faux action girl that constantly has to be saved by her mother and even her brothers, and is perfectly fine with the idea of war breaking out and even makes a joke about it. I know she says she's sorry, but the thing is that I don't believe her development. Just saying it doesn't mean her development was well-done or convincing. In storytelling there's an expression called show, don't tell. This movie and it's character development for Merida is no show and all tell. Even Naveen from The Princess and The Frog has better character development and his wasn't very convincing either.

Sorry for the long winded rant lol. Oh well, I'm sure one of her dedicated fans will come rushing to her side to defend her, much like I do with Ariel, so I'm really not one to talk lol.

Not really. There are some princesses that I only felt neutral towards them, but don't disliked them.

Merida

not really, i may disagree with their choices or decisions in the movie but i enjoy all of them in my own way. I have my ranking and some do fall at the end of the list but that's primarily because i love others more and not because i dislike them..

Rapunzel, Anna, and Elsa

Ariel is my least favorite, but I don't dislike her. She's just okay in my opinion.

Hmm. Not counting Anna and Elsa who are not official DPs...my least favorites are Belle, Tiana, and Merida. Those three get on my nerves a lot.

It is clear from the movie that Belle can't handle tough situations, and resorts to blaming the Beast.

Tiana has the personality trait of being a meddlesome nitpick, who can't quit issuing criticism to everyone around her.

Merida has mammoth anger issues, and shows a profound lack of respect for other people (the servants, her own parents, the princes, and anyone who dislikes her viewpoint basically gets the anger treatment, the shouting yell, and the grimace). Merida thinks that getting her own way trumps every other concern on the table--- something which shows how little maturity she has. As for Merida's apology, her character arc is so forced, that it renders her apology just meaningless. Since everyone in the movie accepts the new tradition of "marriage for love" instantly-- there's really little "changing" Merida had to go through to arrive at "choosing her own fate." Merida is declared right for choosing what she wanted all along. The ending of Brave just glosses over how Merida got what she wanted. Elinor did all the changing in the movie. Merida did zero changing.

Anna. I /sorta/ dislike Elsa and Rapunzel, too.

Counting the Frozen princesses as well, I kinda dislike Anna, Ariel, Pocahontas and Tiana.

@MaidofOrleans: You're still right. If you go back to my Brave Review article, that's where I said she was at spot number 5. I'm still not happy with Merida. She is at number 5 on my list, but I only like her so-so. I still don't like her the way others on Fanpop love her to death. The odd fact is, every time I watch Brave, I'm madly loving Elinor, and I feel myself cheering for her so much...while I'm finding Merida a total a## for doing the maximum damage she did, and slightly hating her guts. I've now watched Brave at least five times with the same result. I kind of dislike Merida. So this is why my answer gives Merida a dislike. Merida annoys me.

Snow White is low on my list, but she's a solid "like." Merida who is higher-- isn't. The high 5 placement is really my torn self trying to like Merida, out of my love for Elinor.
