It always has been! It's such a good movie, yet people can't get past how bad it is!

^I can see why people enjoy it, but... For the life of me, I CANNOT get myself to like The Enchanted Christmas when I try watching it! I always cringe and turn it off.

I really don't understand a lot of the criticisms about the movie. The characters stay true to themselves, the animation is beautiful (admittedly not gorgeous or stunning), it has a lot of creativity to it, the songs are good, the story is charming, is has a great score, and also adds to Belle and Beast's relationship. I realize it's not for everyone but it's FAR from awful or bad in my opinion. I think it's a genuinely fantastic movie with a lot of emotional moments and heart to it. I even did a whole review of the movie just because I had to defend it. I think a lot of these get too much hate. Even the bad and awful ones are relatively harmless and I've seen FAR worse movies out there, animated and non-animated.

Hmm. My favorite sequels are Mulan II and Cinderella III. TLM II and Enchanted Christmas are a little less good.

Well, it has a unique story (not a rehash like TLM 2) and has good songs. Ariel and her sisters are likable. Gorgeous animation. I like it, but itn gets a lot of hate

agree with BeastlySoul and KataraLover... cant understand people's criticism towards it. My fav sequels are also Cinderella III and Mulan II apart from The Enchanted Christmas.

It's not so great, but the short stories are watchable. The animation is decent, the songs aren't bad, the stories aren't amazing, but they do "teach lessons".
I'm going to be biased and say that The Little Mermaid III: Ariel's Beginning is also unfairly criticized. I thoroughly enjoy it, even though it contradicts the Little Mermaid animated series (which I don't mind, but like a lot less than Ariel's beginning).

A lot of people like to discount this one even though it's more historically accurate which is a shame because in real life Pocahontas/Rebecca not only followed her dreams but achieved them and she would want that to be celebrated.

Shakespear died two months before Pocahontas arrived to London, by then Hamlet had already been created LONG before Pocahontas arrived.

What they did wasn't bear bating AT ALL. It was cruel but that's not how bear bating was done.

Ratcliffe died three years before Pocahontas came to London

Pocahontas didn't return to her people. She had a son with Rolfe, became sick, and died before returning.

Uttamatomakkin, more well known as Tomocomo, was married to Pocahontas' half-sister and was a shaman. He was also short and did talk quite a bit.

Pocahontas met John Rolfe when she was kidnapped and he was the guard that kept her imprisoned. He thought of her as a heathen that he could save her by marrying her and making her a Christian. It was also rumored that he raped her.

Pocahontas achieved her dreams? It's well documented she was sold as a slave to the British and then forcibly converted to Christianity. She was forced to marry Rolfe and it's easy to assume she was raped. She died of a pox on a ship. What any of that screams "happy ending"?

I am genuinely concerned by some of the things laylastepford says here.
Next thing she'll say that the British were doing good by colonizing the Natives....She wouldn't be the first. I once found this fanart that had Disney's Rolfe teaching Pocahontas Chrstianity...It just made me feel ill. The artist was basically romanticizing colonized conversion.

They're all harshly criticized to an extent (except for Belle's Magical World. That piece of f*** film deserves every second of hate it gets). Especially this one, Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World, and Cinderella II: Dreams Come True.
I'm actually surprised Aladdin and the King of Thieves got votes. It's a very well-liked sequel, and for good reason.

They all are to some degree, But the Mermaid sequels and Enchanted Christmas are the best ones in my opinion of the Princess movies along with Mulan 2. They all have good storylines. NOTHING beats the originals obviously but like I said they all are unfairly criticized to some degree, cause they are good in their own way

*high-five KataraLover* Pocahontas 2 was about as historically accurate as the first. I will admit that the reason I first starting hating Pocahontas 2 was because she didn't end up with Smith, but now that's only a minor reason. The main reasons are what KataraLover listed and more reason.

Anyway, Little Mermaid 2 is very much unfairly criticized. I never got the reasons for hating it. Also; Mulan 2, the Aladdin sequels, Cinderella 3, The Enchanted Christmas and Disney Princess Enchanted Tales: Follow Your Dreams. Actually, that's most of them.... XD

It is such a good movie. I loved it! and honestly i don't understand how so many people don't.

This. Many people list it among the worst sequel but I disagree with them. While it isn't a masterpiece, it's still a nice movie.

Pocahontas II is critized absolutely fairly in my opinion. Like KataraLover admitted, it is not no more historically accurate than the original. Also, besides destroying John Smith/Pocahontas, it also has almost all characters OOC and poor writing.

scarletunicorn, I've also seen that fanart. I find it insulting to the message of the first movie and character of Disney Pocahontas( whom I madly admire). Even sequel screams that Ratcliffe is the real savage, not Pocahontas! Disney Pocahontas would never accept that religion of her tribe is inferior to Christians. She is too wise to think that the name(s) and quality of god(s) she believes makes her worse or better than somebody. She knows that wisedom, peacefulness and compassion is what makes people civilized. This is why Pocahontas is my favorite heroine. She and her voice actress Irene Bedard will always be symbols of wisedom and patriotism to me. I have nothing against Rolfe/Pocahontas fanart unless Pocahontas is whitewashed.

I don't get why people hate it. It's a mediocre but a nice movie. Every single story of this movie teach us a lesson.
Also Little Mermaid 2, it's funny to know peoples dislike it but they adore the original one, as the sequel is kinda similar with the original one for me.

I think most deserve the criticism they get. The others I've just never seen get criticized much.
