All three. But going to war is practically giving your life; the risk of death is just so high. Especially since she's a woman and in her time that was not allowed.

Death is quick, it lasts a second. War is hell, but there's also a chance of survival. You might be one of the lucky solders to survive, or miss the bulk of the combat, or stay out of sight, or get an office job; something.

Belle's father was locked in a cold tower in a castle deep in the forest with a huge, terrifying, temperamental Beast as his captor. Her father was to be imprisoned until he died of cold or illness. Belle agreed to take his place with the explicit terms that she has to remain there forever. She who always wanted to travel, see the world, and experience adventure, willingly agreed to stay a prisoner for the rest of her life. She truly believed, also, that she would sit in the power and rot for the rest of her miserable life.

That's hard to do, I think.

There are fates worse than death.

Also Belle, but I chose this because even if there were chance to survive in war you should also do horrible things like kill people and watch your friends being killed. War would very likely leave a trauma too so even surviving wouldn't always be nice option.

in the other two there is still hope because its the last thing that dies even in terrible conditions...but in death there is no turning back, its over

To die is easy there are so many ways to choose from. You will suffer for only a few minutes at the most, even less, but those you leave behind will suffer untill the day they die.

War is a terrible thing even if you survive it because the physical wounds may heal but your mentality will be forever broken.

But the choice Belle made takes the most guts IMO. She didn't know what layed ahead. What kind of physical and mental abuse she could be up against. I think for her death would have been salvation.

Thank goodness this is Disney. But it doesn't mean it doesn't exist in the real world.

War is scary

And to die for someone, obviously. But I think going to war would take even more guts than simply sacrifying oneself.
