I love all of the Revival (or modern) era :)
Tiana (6), Rapunzel (4), Merida (8), Anna (3), Elsa (2)
2. Classic Era
Snow White (5), Cinderella (11), Aurora (1)
3. Renaissance Era
Ariel (12), Belle (13), Jasmine (10), Pocahontas (7), Mulan (9)
But hey don't forget Pocahontas! She's also boring xD
1. Renaissance
Ariel (6), Belle (2), Jasmine (12), Pocahontas (11), Mulan (4)
2. Revival
Tiana (7), Rapunzel (9), Merida (13), Anna (3), Elsa (5)
3. Classic
Snow White (8), Cinderella (1), Aurora (10)
The only princess I love from the revival era is Tiana and from the classic i only love Cinderella while I adore all the princess from the renaissance
Renaissance era: Poca (1)+ Mulan (6) + Ariel (8) + Jasmine (9) + Belle (13)
Classic era: Aurora (2) + Cindy (11) + Snow (12)
There are some from each I adore!
1.) Renaissance: Jasmine (my favorite) Ariel (love her, she's currently #4 on my list) Belle(love her though she dropped to number 7) Mulan(like her she's number 8) and Pocahontas (11) she's the only one from this era I'm not crazy about.
2.) Revival Era: Close second:Elsa (2) Anna (5) Rapunzel (6) Merida (9) and Tiana (12) Overall I love three out of five, I like Merida and I don't like Tiana.
3.) Classic Era: The only one I love out of this era is Aurora (she's third on my list), where Cinderella is 10th, and Snow White is last. I do like Cinderella, I just don't love her and I have never liked Snow White.
All-round, most of the Renaissance princesses are someone's number 1 favourite, and they are a nice group of princesses
2. Anna (her and Kristoff are adorable)
3. Ariel (that moment singing on the rock)
4. Aurora (lovely peasant dress and forrest scene)
5. Belle (gorgeous face, but the romance... eh)
6. Rapunzel (cute, but a little too much at times)
7. Mulan (powerful, but ends up with Shang? ugh, come on)
8. Jasmine (PANTS yes! but annoying occasionally)
9. Pocahontas (girl's got presence, but personality was inconsistent)
10. Tiana (ugh, so much time as a frog, a little preachy, and blah prince)
11. Cinderella (movie about mice... plus choker necklace ick)
12. Merida (didn't like this movie, too boring)
13. Snow White (that voice *shudder* and too passive)
anyway.... this, easily.
Classic era: The classic era princesses were dull and boring. They were really boring characters who hardly had any personalities and did nothing in their films and just dreamed about their princesses coming and rescuing them.
Revival era: I haven't seen Frozen so I can't say on Anna & Elsa & I hate Merida from brave ( definitely my worst disney princess) and Tiana & rapunzel were okay.
Renaissance era: They were the best disney princesses. They were active heroes who had more personality and characteristics than any of the earlier princesses. Also they had a whole variety of dreams and goals and took action to achieve their dreams and had more dreams set on adventure rather than love and were realy cool and likeable characters.
My least favorite era is definitely the Revival. The princesses are less fun, the movies take themselves way too seriously and have convoluted plotlines, the messages are way too preachy about everything from "dreams," to fairytale settings, to how to meet your "lover/ or not" -- and the outcome or goal leaves me frustrated and dissatisfied. When I watch a Disney movie, I want to laugh-- even when the princess does something funny. That doesn't happen at all for me with the Revival princesses. And most of the Revival princesses annoy me altogether, to be honest. Like Belle, most of them think they are superior or something and need to teach their parents or their princes a lesson.
Classic era focused with the representation of females at 1930s until 1950s, which most of them are graceful, sophisticated, romantic, daydreaming, elegant, and waiting for a Prince charming to save her. They are tend to be passive, but as I said before, it was influenced from representation of woman in that era.
Princesses from the renaissance era has more active roles (like Poca, Mulan) but some of them still waiting for true love, ex: Ariel, Jasmine. This era however, is the most balanced one.
The latest one, Revival era, actually has similar traits like Renaissance ones. Unless they just added new characteristic on them, like the princess that have realistic life(Tiana), or the one that not needing any prince and stands in their own way, and more flawed, (Merida, Elsa) With the revival era girls, there are some feminism perspective here.
