Eric: OMG SHE HAS THE VOICE OF MY DREAMS I MUST MARRY HER

I want to know your opinions because I'm not sure whether he would have rushed into marrying the girl with the voice, or tried to get to know her better first.

I picked Ariel, but I'm not so sure. He was so enchanted with The Voice. I think this is how it would play out:

1- Eric sees Vanessa and invites her to spend some time in his palace.
2- Vanessa flirts with Eric and he is smitten with her. Ariel is hurt.
3- Vanessa press Eric into marriage. He is unsure of what to do, because he has feeling for both women.
4- Vanessa drugs Eric and makes he think he slept with her. Vanessa cries and say he took her virginity.
5- Grimsby is horrified and tells Eric he must marry her to cover her honor up. Carlotta agrees with him.
6- Eric listen to their opnion and believes that is what they must do. But, at that point, he had already decided he loved Ariel and was going to propose to her.
7- Ariel runs away.
Eventually, Vanessa's plan would be discovered and the lovebirds would be reunited and happy. I realize Ariel had only one day left, but I didn't think of the timeline when I wrote this.

He had decided before Vanessa arrived that he would just forget this mystery girl with the beautiful voice, he really loves this new girl he found on the beach, got to know, and has shown him joy and fun that he hasn't felt in a long time.

He would because Grimsby told him about Ariel been the second choice if he didn't find the mystery girl that save him.

Well there were only one day left, I don't think Eric would have made his mind up in such short time. If there were more time I think it would be something like Silverrose1991 described.

He already having fun with Ariel. The girl with the same voice in his head? Who cares... XD

Even if Ursula hadn't used brainwashing magic, if she still used Ariel's voice in the shell to pass as her own, Eric would have picked Vanessa over Ariel in a hare's breath. The film made it pretty clear Eric only cared about the girl with "that voice," regardless of looks or personality.

Even when he throws the flute in the sea and seems to pick Ariel, he looks like he's clearly settling for less than what he wants, not appreciating what he has. In fact, even before Ursula's magic works its way into his system, he still stops to look back when he hears "that voice." This, when he was supposedly about to confess his love for the girl in the balcony.

In fact, once Ariel regains her voice, the first thing he says is "You can talk! You're the one!" Oh, now she's the love of his life. When she was just a girl "of flesh and blood. One warm and caring, and right before [his] eyes," she was always his second choice. But she has the voice? Suddenly "it was you all the time!"

So, yeah. If she didn't use brainwashing magic but still the voice, Vanessa would have won.
