maryksand picked I do not care about the ‘female liberation’ that DPs try to ‘teach' us:
The only princess whose personality I'm not quite fond of but still adore as a character is Merida and I'm not really into crackshipping, but don't have anything against it being explored in fanfiction either. I think what Genie intended to do for Aladdin was understandable considering the fact that finally for once in many years he made an actual friend he cared about and vice versa and despite Aladdin's flaws he could see his kind and caring heart of a good and compassionate person as opposed to the way his other masters were and he wanted to give Aladdin a happiness that as he believed he deserved. Luckily, Aladdin grew and developed as a person enough throughout the movie to be able to accept himself the way he was, most on from his insecurities and desire to pretend to be someone else and instead gave Genie what he deserved -a freedom.

I'm genuinly and entirely convinced that it would be the worst creative decision possible for Disney to have moralistic and patronizing concepts in their movies and whenever they are trying to go that route they end up failing in many ways (see Princess and the Frog that could have been a so much better movie had the whole "don't wish on stars kids but overwork yourself to the point where it starts having a clear destructive influence and negative effect on your personal life because it's the only possible way for your dreams to come true, unless you meet a handsome male frog who promises you a bunch of his money if you kiss him" perception/concept been absent from it and had the story actually focused on character development instead of supposedly challenging Disney's well known troupes and intending to break stereotypes while contradicting itself all the time in every aspect) therefore the last thing I care about when I watch Disney movies for the sake of getting a therapeutic effect and an uplifting feel from them is a suppose female liberation, because not only I'm generally against ideas/concepts being a driving force of the story, but having Disney being preachy destroys everything that is so inspiring about it and it's formula of everyone having a right to be different and make choices that suite you as long as you're not hurting other people with them.

The Ariel and her sisters thing is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. They're flippn' mermaids; how are they suppose to cut their hair?!?!

She's a mermaid!!! What's not to like? As a character she collects stuff, she swims, she can outsmart a shark....but if she was real...I guess I could still adore her... but not halfway to the point I adore her as a character!!!

Jessikaroo picked I don’t understand why Genie nearly gave up his freedom for Al and Jas:
@TheCrystalRing I think the person means it's impractical to have long hair underwater.
But this one because Genie's been locked up for waaaay longer than Jas and Al's lifespans. It was a nice thought, but ti would've been unfair if Al has accepted.
I also ship BellexPhoebus, and I don't care about the female liberation lessons too.
