I was just always curious about whethe I'm the only one or not...

I mean nothing against Smith or Rolfe, I like them both in a way, but I honestly don't think either of them deserved a girl as amazing as Pocahontas. They needed to seriously grow up and develop on their own before measuring up to her and while I enjoyed both couples in their brief moments I feel like those relationships were kinda rushed in many ways plus I believe Pocahontas was the kind of Disney Princess that should have ended up single. Especially after the song "Where do I go from here" where she sings about "starting a new life on her own" so her ending up with either Rolfe and Smith just doesn't seem fitting to me after that.

Both couples sort of try to make up for the flaws of each other, Poca/Smith had much better scenes and a better dialog, but completely lacked any sort of build up as a romantic couple: John Smith came to her land, called her and her people savages and then we are supposed to believe he changed his whole mentality and outlook on life through the course of two days? And he fell in love with her why exactly, because she sang him a song about colors of the wind and because he talked to a tree? And Poca fell in love with him because ~ the arrow was pointing at him (failure symbolism). Now, Rolfe and Pocahontas actually had a build up, we could see them getting to know each other first, being awkward around each other, flirting and developing feelings, but not only we never got to see them being in an actual relationship, but also they ended up having the same flaws that Pocahontas/Smith had in their relationship and it lead to even more dysfunction: Rolfe barely understood Pocahontas and her ways although he grew to at least respect them at some point. Smith and Rolfe were too concerned about making things go their way while Pocahontas was too independent to listen to either of them and always had to do everything on her own. Pocahontas couldn't really be a team with either guy, even when she was with them she was technically alone. I feel like her ending up alone would have been a much more fitting ending.

I disagree. John Smith and Pocahontas belong to each other.I think the ending should be as it is,though.It's magnificent and heart-breaking. Then, it should stand alone,or get a sequel but with a different ending. I know the couldn't be together because of the time and the place and that's why i like the first movie where they break apart,but a sequel wouldn't be bad (having her with John Smith)because it's Disney so everything can happen,it's not reallity.

In a way I do. I love the ending of Pocahontas, very bittersweet. It's so sad, yet believable and tastefully dramatic. I think the realism adds depth because in real life (if they had fallen in love) it most likely would've ended the same.
I don't care about the historical accuracy haha, I think the sequel was rather unnecessary because I loved the ending so much; they should have let the audience decide what the character's lives on were based off their own points of view. So yes, now that I think about it, I guess I would've preferred if she was left single.
