Gaye McKnown, wow, I hadn't though about her, she'd be perfect!!! :)

Charlize Theron is actually the actress that Lara Parker ("Angelique" from the original Dark Shadows series) has noted would be perfect for the role--as stated by Lara in both the 2008 and 2009 Dark Shadows Festival.

Yep,this is true drvalerie and when I heard Lara say that on stage I shouted "Yes! Perfect". I was sitting right in front of the stage, she looked down at me and smiled. That was cool moment. What I love about Charlize is that she is an amazing actress who is gorgeous, but most importantly, she has those firey eyes that are sooo Angelique! :) Not that Gaye McKnown doesn't give her competition! He he.

Back in the day I might of voted for Nicole Kidman because she also has those eyes, can really act and actually looked like Lara in my opinion, but I am not as certain she fits the role as well now as she used to.

I picked Charlize Theron for the hell of it, but I'm certain they're going to want someone fresh-faced and youthful. All the selections are gorgeous, but I have a feeling they're going to be looking for someone in the 18-30 range. Helena passed that mark a looong time ago.

Angelina Jolie because I don't know any of the actresses listed and she looks the prettiest.

Helena Bonham Carter because I'm more familiar with her. Some of the choices here are good. Theron, Kidman and McKnown would do good. I don't know about Jolie, I just don't get her.

Hard question! I honestly don't know who to choose. Certainly some interesting choices. Theron, Kidman, or HBC.

I picked her because she has those eyes and is at the right age. I like Amanda Seyfried and I think she'd do very well too. Back then, I might have voted for Nicole Kidman, Helena Bonham Carter and Naomi Watts. But in their 40's now and if they cast a younger girl as Josette/look-alike, they'd be too old. Uma Thurman could pull it off. I'm not too familair with Gaye McNown but she looks all right. Anjelina Jolie is the worst choice. she brings very little emotional depth and has beady eyes and just isn't Angelique material. Sienna Miller might be O.K. Sarah Alexander and Nicky Accox, I'm not familair with. I just hope they cast someone good as Angelique, Meryl Streep as Julia and they keep the gothic feel of the original TV series. That's all I ask for in the new movie.

I picked Charlize Theron because she can play diabolical very well and at 35 she's an appropriate age. Lara Parker was about 30 when she began the role in 1967; Lysette Anthony was about 28 in 1991. She also has very striking eyes.

I agree with emeraldeyesonly, Charlize would do very well and she's in her 30's, around Lara's age. I am torn between Amanda and Charlize. I think it depends on who plays Josette, if it's a younger girl than Amanda or Charlize.

I agree with harpomarks and emeraldeyesonly. For Angelique they need someone younger, between 25-35.

She has those eyes for it.

Let's break out of the box. In the 1960s it would not have flown on daytime television for Angelique to be African-Caribbean,so a blonde, blue eyed Lara Parker played her (and did it well.)

But Martinique is 90% African-Caribbean and Angelique was Josette's servant. She'd be black. Beyonce is sexy, powerful and would make a much better Angelique than another blonde, blue-eyed white woman.

I picked Amanda because she's young and fresh-faced. Charlize Theron would be my second choice. I think Anjelina Jolie is the worst choice. Angelique has to be beautiful and Anjelina is butt ugly. Uma Thurman would be interesting. Helena, Nicole and Naomi are too old. Beyonce is an interesting choice but she doesn't seem Angelique material to me. I guess we'll see.

I really wish Michelle Pfieffer was younger. She had those striking eyes and that cartoony-ness that Lara Parker had. But being that Michelle is 52, it's unlikely she'll get the part. That's why I went with Charlize Theron.

Angelique is a hard part to cast. There are two actresses being suggested for the part who would be terrible. Anjelina Jolie should not be Angelique, she's ugly and can't act. Scarlett Johanson has been suggested and that would be a mistake.

Hopefully, Burton comes to his senses and casts Charlize in the part, or any other decent actress.

I picked Gaye McNown because she has that Angelique look to her in her face. So does Charlize Theron. Amanda Seyfried seems a bit too young. Kidman and Carter are too old. I think Gaye would be great as Angelique, or Charlize.

Nicole, she just reminds me of a witch.
