I think certain writers love the DE dynamic and write it that way. And some like SE or just really don't have a favorite. The bottom line is that the writers, producers and the network love adn appreciate the DE fan base because without them being soo rabid, TVD would be another blah show not bringing in the ratings, advertisers, endorsements ( in other words money) that they want. Hardly anyone in the media talk, glamourize,dramatize or wax lyrical about the SE romance because it's just there with nothing interesting or exciting about it. posted एक साल से अधिक पुराना.

I think because of our popularity DE'ers get a little more fanservice, but it doesn't effect the major storylines. I don't see how they 'switched the storyline', if you're referring to the finale. The premise has always been a love triangle, and they even foreshadowed Stefan being a ripper wayyy back in 1x06 (or 1x13, one of the flashback eps) But when it comes to endgame, yes, I fully believe what the fans want will tie into what they do. posted एक साल से अधिक पुराना.

I guess they're kinda overwhelmed by so many DE fans but I wouldn't say it affects their decisions. I mean it's the same in the books. DE has the biggest fan base but they still fired L.J because of wanting them as endgame. I mean, take 2x01 for example. They knew a lot of people would be upset by it, but they still went ahead and did it. If they were that flattered that DE got so much attention and were loved by so many, they wouldn't have had Damon attack Jeremy. On the other hand, they want to make sure they can play out the chemistry DE have for as long as the series is on TV. They want fans to keep coming back for more. As for the book series, you would think Harper/Alloy would have given the fans DE as endgame, or published a new trilogy of books based on their relationship, or both, but that didn't happen, which was really stupid of them. However, all I can say is, the writers won't be affected by the ending of the books, so DE has a better chance of being endgame in the show. Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson will be hated by fans if they lead them on a merry dance that goes nowhere. Producers has their idea and they wan't to make show as much interesting as it is possible. So they would give us some Delena scenes as long as it makes us watch and interested in their romance.
