i think they needed it. because it would have been to fast. and the hate/love thing is something i really love ;D

it doesn't really matter now. earlier it was really bad for their friendship, but now i think they just forgot that.

Probably not because if it hadn't been him 'killing Jeremy' then it would have only been something else major that would have made Elena hate him. It's like KW said "They have to hate each other first and that will eventually turn itself inside out." It was important for Damon's character to go through that & do that to Elena because it made him realize that it's not okay, that he would lose her if he continued down that path if he hadn't already & that was a big part of him wanting to be the better man for her, after what he did to Jeremy he realized then that he didn't deserve her & he had to work hard to prove to her that one day he could. Everything had come full-circle for him then. It was important for both of their characters to hate each other first so we could move on to the point that we are starting to hit now as we reach the end of the season. I'm relieved that what happened with Jeremy took place at the very beginning of the season as oppose to later on because otherwise we probably wouldn't even be at the stage we are now with DE.

I know that if that Jeremy thing hadn't happened, the things would have developed too fast...but I wish Damon had done something different to make Elena hate him. Killing her brother was way out of line. I think it's something pretty much unforgiveable. Not to mention, getting into relationship with a guy who tried to kill your sibling, lmao! I'm a sucker for love/hate relationships, but this was too much...

I think that everything happens for a reason. I don't believe Damon killing Jeremy was just something that the writers thought to start hating Damon. I hate him/ hate is the beggining of a love story....

big yes! she has been attracted to him from the beginning. you could clearly see it whenever she looked at him: or was in close proximity to him.
