7. They also somewhat resemble the couples Scarlett/Rhett and Pacey/Joey.
8. Damon makes Elena have fun/take a break from life.
9. They go on roadtrips together.
10. Both can't live without each other.
11. Damon loves her either way.
12. There first sex scene and makeout scene in Denver was hot and intense!
13. Elena wanted a human life with Damon.
14. Damon is ok with Elena hating him as long as he keeps her alive.
15. They don't care what others think about their relationship.
16. They won't give up on each other.

18. Damon and Elena trust each other.
19. Elena saw his humanity when no one else did.

loveofdelena excellent reasons hun. but you missed out that they have a relationship, built completely on the foundation of trust and honesty. and damon has ALWAYS been there for her when she needed him. Even when she didn't need him or when she was mean to him, he was always there for her throughout eveything. he never left her side. NOT ONCE. also, he has NEVER judged her or crisized her, and he has always excepted her for who and what she is, unlike a certain selfish asshole that we know!! and same goes for elena. she always believed in him when noone else did. if that doesn't say TRUE AND UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, then i honestly don't know what does.

I also 100% agree with you! There love is based on trust and honesty and Damon did promise that he would NEVER leave her again and he never did. It is true and unconditional love for sure. This is why I prefer Delena since Stefan wouldn't do what Damon does for her. Thanks again for reading.
