Does anyone know how to make good DE pics with GIMP?

I really want to make some DE pics but I don't know how it works, I have never done something like that before. I have no idea how to put several pictures together या to make one picture और transparent than the other and then put them together.. I'm kinda VERY helpless :/ I would be very happy if someone could help me ♥

यूट्यूब is your friend! (: खोजिए for some tutorials, I use photoshop, I used gimp like once and it looks really complicated. I would recommend photoshop या pixlr.com. pixlr is just like photoshop except आप can't add your own brushes.
