mandapanda I have to agree. I saw the latest from the Hillywood show, and I was disappointed. I'm not saying it wasn't applaud worthy effort. They're costumes/sets were very similar to the movies and whatnot. But the New Moon Parody was... i don't know how to describe it. Although, they stopped doing their other videos with Jack Sparrow and the Dulorian (sp?) because the owner of the car is in Iraq. You can't really blame them. But I do agree that Twilight is affecting many people... all ages... As a pretty active Twilight fan, I can admit that. It's different than other "cults" or "in-things". I honestly have NO IDEA why it's this popular. The writing is standard. Nothing amazing. The characters can be personable to a degree. Most of the characters are mythical creatures, but they have human characteristics that can be relatable. I think it's a pretty good story. The side characters have stories that are unique and, what I find, heartbreaking. I think it just appeals to alot of people. Of course, it hit alot of people harder than most fads. It's a fad to like Twilight, and it's a fad to insult it. It's how you perceive the entire phenomenon. As a Twilight fan, I often get tired of the fangirlly screams. Honestly, I've tolerated fangirls screaming for a while now. But, I'm hoping the phase will end. And those of us who are "real" twilight fans will continue to like Twilight without being reminded about the fangirls or the haters. I'm sure once the fangirls pass, the haters will as well.

lexie2635 um i kind of agree actually(on the topic of it taken over ppls life).i loved high school musical.jonas brothers even.but then this great story twilight came in my life and i couldnt help it.sometimes i try to stop myself from tlkin about it.i even almost lost a friend b/c he didnt like that i liked it so much.it has taken over life.my room is filled w/twilight saga stuff all over.and it is where ever u go.my cousin who is 10 wants 2 read them.i told her she shouldn't b/c shes too young.shes even trying to buy all this new moon stuff,and saying shes team edward.and that comes to my next point.ppl are on teams and tlkin all this and have never read the books.and wen i say ppl i say twilight fans.and like mandapanda said i cant wait till this all ends and the real twilight fans can enjoy w/out being called names and getting made fun of.but i dont have problems w/ppl who dont like twilight,but w/ppl who say rude things to us twilight fans.

LadyLilith Well said, mandapanda. :) I personally don't like Twilight anymore, but I can very much admire someone who does. Someone who truly does, and isn't some brainwashed, screechy fangirl. I'm aware that only the majority of the supposed fans are like that though; it's just that the real fans are much appreciated. :) And I agree with it just being a huge hype right now; soon enough, the untrue fans will move on, and the haters won't have anything to bitch about it anymore. I guess I say this being a said hater; I just don't care for Twilight. That would be the end of the story if it wasn't constantly riding up my arse everywhere I went, and people treating it like it's the best book ever written when it obviously is not. It's everywhere, and I don't think it deserves to be. And then there's the fans. You know precisely what fans I'm talking about. So all of this truly irritates me, and I find the need to blow off steam about it and vent. But once the hype dies back down, I won't have a reason to hate it because it won't be getting on my nerves anymore. So I'm not jumping on the hating bandwagon. :) I have my reasons.

mandapanda ^^In the past, you and I have had a couple of civilized conversations. And, I think it was safe to say, back then, it was ~easier to talk to "haters" or "anti" fans because the hype wasn't as huge. The "thing" that the majority likes, the haters will strike that "thing" with more force. It's weird how that works. The Vampire Diaries, have "similar" traits to twilight. The vampire is in love with a human. He's even older than Edward. Of course, he isn't in her room, but he does show some obsessive qualities. Though, people don't call him a stalkerish boyfriend. Twilight is the "big" thing right now. Whatever is in the spotlight, you know there will be people who are gonna hate it. Two sides to every coin. Once the fad ends, all the sane fans can return to discussing it without being interuptted by the screaming fans, or by the haters. And, please. I don't consider those on the C.A.T. spot to be haters, despite what everyone says on the Twilight Series spot. They don't speak for all of us fans. You guys don't go out of your way to make fun of it. Something pops up, you think is funny, you comment. You have your spot, twilight fans (sane, and crazy) have theirs. Do I always agree with some of things on here? No. I get offended sometimes, but I don't comment on it because if I don't think it has potential to be a fruitful discussion, I don't say anything. It's as simple as that. I'd hope some of the fangirls would have learned by now... not all people should like Twilight. It's not a sin :) And if people call us twilight fans "retarded" or "the most immature people on the planet", well, I'm 16. I got a while til I grow up :P Considering the entire Twilight fandom as insane and stupid, is rather insulting, but it's the "fans" that give us the reputation. The Twilight fandom is secretly destroying itself and making itself a public target. Alot of Twilight fans I know, however, do know how to distinguish what the flaws are with Twilight. There's sane fans out there! Somewhere!

LadyLilith They call Harry Potter immature, and see it as something only for kids, but I'm 18 and I'm still a proud Harry Potter fan. :) I've loved it for years. So don't let any bloody idiots keep you from what you love; they won't be around that long anyway. Yes, we used to have some very interesting conversations. One thing I remember though, about being a fan: I was slightly unnerved to talk with you. We talked a little bit more outside of the Twilight spot, and we were on "opposite teams." I definitely remember how on guard I was being a Twilight fan; I know you're not all like this, but it could be a war zone in there. Or at the very least, mud would be thrown and people's feelings were hurt. I loved Twilight, but it was scary. I hadn't found very many other sane fans. But (at the time surprisingly) you were very collected and understanding, and I greatly appreciated it. It was unexpected at the time...a Twilight fan that could carry out intelligent conversation?! EGADS! I always try and add a disclaimer if I happen to talk about any fans nowadays, especially for Twilight fans. It's kind of necessary, really; I kind of figured everyone always knew I was talking about THAT kind of fan, DEFINITELY not all of them. I apologize if anything I have said has offended you; just keep in mind I NEVER talk about all of you. ^^ As my profile said before though..."Stereotypes are not always accurate. But keep in mind they were made somehow." I hate that Twihards (THOSE fans) give the series such a bad name. No one would really hate on Twilight all that much if it wasn't so popular nowadays; so it's like the fandom's essentially kind of hanging itself from the rafters. Hopefully, as Dearheart put somewhere, soon enough we'll all be holding hands and singing Kumbaya with each other. XD

Would people like it and become anti? Who knows? THOSE types of fans ruin it for the new and old fans. It's saddening. lol I'm sure they ruined it for alot of the older fans. I know of a few who stopped the Twilight Spot altogether. Just couldn't tolerate the craziness over there. And that's completely understandable! And yes. I always have to say, no offense intended or something to that affect. Even if the comment is completely polite. Better to be safe than sorry right? I don't want mud thrown at my face. haha

Who knows?" I heard about the film a year back by film I mean Twilight, myself and another vampire obsessed friend of mine were like "ooooh vampires". I at the time was reading another vampire series and so I planned to read Twilight but never got round to it. But I had nothing against it. Then EVERYONE of my friends began to read it, religiously, discussing it continuously, and I mean it by everyone of my friends. I just couldn't escape, and none of my friends are screaming fangirl types, they're all friendly witty intelligent people, but its just that I couldn't escape it, so I became anti (for other reasons too though :)) So I guess in answer to you're rhetorical question (oxymoron I know), I think had Twilight not been so huge, there would been barely any antis. :)

mandapanda ^^that's right. When something becomes too popular, the original group tends to turn away from it. I miss the good ol' fun Twilight days you know? It's different now. I don't think anyone could disagree with that. :)

Myf_1992 It makes me dread anything I like becoming popular. Its like Nickelback, I have loved them for donkys years. And because of the odd main stream song they released (especially rockstar) all of a sudden all there people starting liking them. I went to see them in concert, myself and an equally mad friend jumped and sang along through the whole thing, but the group of chavs behind us stood still untill the encore, when they sung rockstar. I mean seriously, would you pay £40 just to see one song? I was annoyed.
