Critical Analysis of Twilight Article: Edward Cullen: A Rant

हे there! So recently I just put a Bella and Jacob article, which I really enjoyed writing, and of course sharing my opinions. Some people have कहा they would want me to write a लेख here about Edward Cullen, so here it is! Hope आप enjoy it!

Now, there's no way आप haven't heard of him. He is currently every girls dream boy, has the most प्रशंसकों on फैन्पॉप when it comes to character, and alos has a cult. Everyone loves him.
But my सवाल is...why?
They say he's romantic, a gentleman. Really? So what if he uses chessy lines and says stuff like "You are my life now." या "The lion fell in प्यार with the lamb." Nothing special about that.
Also, he abusese Bella. Your probaly saying "Thats not true! He never hit Bella!"
There is और than physical abuse. He forces her to go to prom, takes to engine out of her car to prevent her from seeing somebody, never listens to her opinions, and always points out something wrong with her फ्रेंड्स and family. Sounds controlling anybody?
I reached my breaking pont with Edward in Breaking Dawn. When he asked Jacob to have sex with Bella so she can hve his baby, I realized his character couldn't get any worst. Really Edward? And how on earth was Bella actually touched द्वारा that gesture?
And he's creppy. I mean...he watched Bella sleep without her knowledge! That isn't sexy या romantic at all...THATS CREPPY! And he actualy did stalk her...if I were Bella and found out he watched me sleep, I call the cops.
Oh, does anybody else think that some people only प्यार him because he's hot? What if he was ugly? I wonder...
Also, please, give him a persanality! Fun and cherry, sarcastic and funny, ANYTHING! Really, its like he has no persanality at all. He just seems so moody. Why do all these girls प्यार him for? Its shocking how he had 7059 प्रशंसकों on fanpop. If he ever gets और प्रशंसकों than The O.C. and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I think I might die. Seriously.

aurelia_ferns lol... i am a die hard edward fan... and i shud probably stone u to death or somthin bt wat u said does make sense in a weird way... bt he is a fictional character at the end of the day so why bother if he abusive(in a non physical way)or has no personality or wateva!!

OCFan123 Yeah, thats true, he is fiction, but i'm just sharing my opinion of the character. Nice hearing yours though.

And I know he's just a fictional character, but surly a realistic fictional character is more interesting and more lovable that a creepy hot guy with a dead pan personality? That's just my opinion, and its nice to hear the other side's views, I wish more twi-fans would defend the books (with arguments other than "yer but Eddy is like so hawt and hes just tryin to protect her coz he luvs her !!!!!!!!!!").

November99 The thing is, these books are meant to be read by an impressionable age, and these girls will grow up thinking abusive stalkers with zero personality are "prefect". Great article, OCFan123. This prefectly summarizes most of my issues with Edward.

sapherequeen Even though I never understood how Edward was abusive, I did like your article and fully accept your opinion :) I don't have anything against the character Edward, but I never understood the crazy attention he got from millions of fans either. I agree with a lot of things you have said about his looks and quotes being the main reasons why he is relished so mcuh by fans and him being a little moody. I would love to read your article on Bella and Jacob. It sounds interesting...

The 100 साल Old Virgin

Lately, I've heard and seen jokes and टिप्पणियाँ about Edward being "pathetic" या "gay" because he was a 100 साल old virgin. I've written this लेख to state that I see no problem in him being a virgin. I feel that virginity is not something to poke fun at. It simply means that someone wants to save themselves for that special someone whom they are going to spend the rest of their life with. I myself am a virgin and plan to stay that way until I get married.

Pet Peeve: Name Mispellings

This is a short little rant, people.

I don't know about you, but one of my biggest pet peeves is when people spell my name wrong.

On Fanpop, I've gotten ranrea, renre, renray, ranraa, and many others. In real life, I've gotten Reagan, Regon, Regen, Reagen.... and people are always misspelling my last name (I'm not displaying that here.)

One thing I've noticed on फैन्पॉप (and many other fansites, as well) is that people often fail to spell Stephenie Meyer's name right. That's right: StephEnie, with an E right there. Not an 'a'. An 'e'.

So, this article(as आप can obviously see from the title) is about Stephanie Meyer. Oh yes, I'm pretty sure you've heard of her. The लेखक of the Twilight Saga and the Host, she's pretty much one of the most लोकप्रिय writers at this point. Why?
