In your opinion, what makes a movie a Classic?

A friend asked me the other दिन what I thought made a movie a 'classic'. And I didnt know how to answer. Is it that it's been watched millions of times? The only movie of its kind? Really old? What do आप think?

I've seen plenty of old classic films. They usually have a great (believable) storyline, great अभिनय and they make आप think, there are many reasons really but they don't just "entertain" with car chases/stunts/explosions like a lot of films now do. Those type of films don't really appeal to me.
