Of course not. God sees your heart, it doesn't matter what you did in life.

I wouldn't say impossible, but in Acts 2:28 it does say "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." so obviously it's still VERY important in furthering your walk with Christ.

As for God seeing your heart and it "not" mattering what you did in life, I respectfully disagree. The scripture says in James 2:14-18: What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also."

Now that's not to say that works alone will get you into heaven. Matthew 7:22-24 "Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me..."

God knows our heart, but it takes faith and works to please God :)
Hope that helps!

I understand what you mean =) Thank you for doing so much work responding to my comment ^^ I sort of expressed myself a little wrong there. I fully agree with your comment. We know that God forgives many things, but we should not count on it and do bad things thinking they will be forgiven anyway. Instead after doing bad things we should make up for them by doing something good and hoping that he will forgive us.

You get salvation by believing in God and the Savior. Baptism is proof that you believe in it, but you don't "get salvation" just for being baptised (which is what some people believe).

Salvation requires faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Baptism is nothing more than an external demonstration of the finished work of Christ within each believer.

All that matters is that you realize you are under the Gospel of Grace, and that you are covered with the blood of the eternal sacrificial lamb: Jesus Christ.

All that you need to get salvation is to believe that Jesus Christ is the living God and to believe in His resurrection, and to give your heart to Him and make him the Lord and Saviour of your life. That's it! God has made it so easy for us. He has purchased us with His own blood. Now we have to play our part! Amen.

It's recommended that you get baptised after you get saved, but you don't always have to. And if you just get baptised before ever getting saved (like my mom did, she went to a Lutheran church every now and then before she became a Baptist) you're basically just getting wet.

Like what Dada said but from another point. What if a baby was born but died shortly after and was never baptized or was stillborn? In Matthew Jesus says,"Let the little children come to Me.Do not hinder them or persecute them for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those such as these."

We don't chose God,He chooses us.So if God wanted those people to be saved He puts His Holy Spirit in their hearts, writes their names down in the Book of Life and they'll be in heaven. Baptism is not how do I say this....Entirely nessary...(?) to get salvation. We have to have God's spirit in us.Like my youth group leader says,'Baptism is God's action.'

I believe that physical baptism in water is not important, except as a sign to show your choice to follow Jesus. As long as you have taken that step - if you love Jesus, follow him and want to do his will, it doesn't matter if you have been baptised or even read the Bible. Jesus died so that we would be saved; so that we would have salvation regardless of our own sins, but through his sacrifice. If we put our trust in him and go in his name to do good in the world, we will be saved. This is why I disagree with infant baptism; babies cannot make that choice, and so the act itself is meaningless. Baptism is to symbolise making a choice to devote your life to Jesus.

I don't think that a few sprinkles of "blessed" water on my head would constitute me automatically being saved and "belonging to Christ". I believe that you do not have to be a Christian, nor be a part of any kind of religion in order to enter Heaven (or some spiritual Nirvana). You have to be a good person who, despite the shortcomings he has in his/her life, does what he/she can to change the world for the better...whether its helping those who are physically handicapped, volunteering at a soup kitchen, or simply smiling and opening the door for someone.

In short - drips of water does not constitute salvation, but ones actions does.

salvation comes not only from baptisim, but by living by the holy principles. and of course renpenting and atoning for your sins, and misdeeds. its understanding that gods love for us, is not earned. but given, through god, when he sent his beloved son to die on the cross so we could all be free of sin.

it's not about EARNING the love, its about excepting the love as precious gift given to us by god. its all about grace.
