God knows who the false prophets are.

He must have felt really stupid on May 22nd. I don't want to say he deserved it, but what a jerk. Making people believe that stuff. I heard that a girl in Russia believed what he was preaching was true, and she killed herself in anticipation of May 21st.

Poor guy.

He may have been crazy, or a liar, or both, and he caused a lot of chaos and confusion. But I don't believe that medical problems are the result of any smiting or punishment from God. Maybe it was. Maybe he had bad karma. But I also know a lot of good people who've had strokes and medical problems.

So really, who knows. All we can do, I guess, is pray for his soul and leave the rest up to God.

It could've been karma, but I doubt it. Come on, the guy is 89 years old. It shouldn't be shocking when someone his age has something like that. Still, even though he is kind of a lunatic, I do feel bad. Strokes are serious.

I don't think it was God's judgement at all. I think God is grieved (rather than angered) by all of the lies this man bought into and spread to others.

I don't know. It can also just have been a shock about nothing happening and him believing so firmly in it. Or because he's old. Either way: I don't know if I should pity him or shake my head about his actions. On the one hand he's a confused old man, on the other hand he's a multimillionaire (there's a lot of people who would fake anything for money)...
