I guess you would call me nondenominational...at least that's what our church calls itself. I go to Living Hope Church which is a memebr of a group of churches called Sovereign Grace Ministries. Before I was a member of an Elim Fellowship church. While that church was good for a season in my life, and I still participate in the youth group there, Living Hope has really helped me strengthed my relationship with God. The sermens are powerful and tend to deal with heart issues, and during worship (which is of the contemporary variety) I often feel like it's just me and God...I'm completey free and just praising God. It's amazing...

But bak to the origonal question, I beleive that Living Hope refers to itself as nondenominational.

ninjamonkey: that's perfectly fine. I can understand that you are at a crossroads in your life, and I am willing to talk and help you out any way I can. I have to say that I am a Christian and while I resepct other religions, I do not beleive that they are the way to eternal life through Christ. If you don't mind, I will pray for you as you consider religions...this is a very big decision in someones life, and I know personally that it can be a difficult one.

RatDog, I hope you'll recognize that not all Christians feel the same way that H20Rikki1 does. That was out of line.
I wish I could simply prove there is a God but the truth is, believing in God is something that requires Faith. In the end, I think it is more believable that a divine being created the universe and us then it is to believe that everything just happened to come into existence.

I might not be able to "prove" that God exists, using only science and history but that doesn't mean I can't KNOW he exists. I know and believe with all my heart that God exists and that he is doing things for us everyday. We might just not always recognize that God is doing things for us because we like to think that we have earned the things that we have and that they don't come from God.

I know it's tough to believe in a being that you can't see or touch. But when you look around at nature and everything around you, it seems to me that there's no way it all could have simply happened by accident. The world works WAY too smoothly to have happened by chance. There must have been a designer behind it...God.

I wouldn't agree that the world works smoothly. Just look at all the wars and problems we have in society. Not to mention nature messing up sometimes with deformities and disabilities. If God did design it all then he must also be the reason for all these problems.

The reason for nearly all the problems in the world is people. God gave us free will...it's not His fault if we act like idiots and trash the earth and start wars. As far as the nature thing goes, I believe only God has the answer to that...and that there is a reason for everything.

Anywho, I'm joining this thing late, but I agree with Krys. I'm not part of particular denomination. I just love worshiping Jesus :)

xElvenPiratex is right. Things go wrong in this world because we choose to mess things up. We have wars, riots, political problems and more because we are humans and we fall short at times. God created us with free will because he wanted a people who would CHOOSE him. Not be forced to simply because they had no free will. Even though he knew some would continue to live in sin, God knew there would also be those who chose to follow him. Free will is a great blessing.

Which brings me to my next point, through free will I would choose Pepsi any day, unless I was in mexico because Coke is better there.

Why would He want to create us in the first place? Is it just a sick joke to Him to watch people fight others because of the free will He gave us? Wouldn't it be easier to just create people already in Heaven and forgo all the crap on Earth?

Got a lot of stuff to say for this question...

To the person who insulted atheism: Like someone said above (too lazy to check) Love your neighbor. Let me put it this way, God hates no one, whether they believe in him or not. We are supposed to strive to be like God. Think about it.

Pepsi or Coke: Pepsi. They make Mountain Dew...

Burger King or McDonald's: Wendy's kicks both their butts.

My religion: I was raised Catholic. I converted to being a Baptist for a while, but returned to the Catholic church because I had some problems with the Baptist church I went to. Nothing against any Baptists on here, if course. I still think the Baptists are great people, but I just felt more at home in the Catholic Church. Heck, sometimes I have problems with the Catholics, too, but I get along there best. I guess, in some ways, I'm just a Non-demoninational Christian who just prefers to go to te Catholic church. I've been in a lot of other Christian churchs and can get along pretty well in all of them. But, like I said, I was raised Catholic. It's like home.

Okay my opinion is needed again. God did say love your neighbors as you love yourself. So, who is your neighbor? Let me tell you a story. A man walks down the street. A gang member comes up and beats the crap out of him. A priest walks by, sees the man and turns and walks in the opposite direction. The president walks by and sees the man lying there bleeding profusely. He keeps walking pretending he didn't see anything. A drug dealer walks by,sees the man lying on the ground, then rips his own shirt and starts treating the guy so the guy wouldn't die. Then he got him to a hospital and paid the bill. As the injured man was getting to leave the hospital, he reached in his pocket and found reservations for one at a hotel, already paid for. So what's the point of the story? Those around us are our neighbors. That drug dealer saw this man lying there bleeding and dying. He didn't know the injured man at all. All he knew was that this man needed help. The injured man could have been a serial killer. There is a God. For without God, the world would be in more chaos, people in other countries would not be tortured. Maybe I'll give a little insight to that in one of my articles... Anyway I love debates to an extent. I do not like when people come on and just say stuff to fight. Those are the debates I do not like. I love it when people ask questions that make me think. Those debates I love. Things go wrong in "our" world because we all choose to do wrong things. There is no way to stop doing wrong things because it is human nature.
