I hope this is okay, call me out if it isn't, but I will be posting some लेखाए from the DP club I पोस्टेड onto this spot.

My opinions on Rapunzel have changed a lot. When I joined Fanpop, she was सेकंड on my list. Eventually she moved up to first. After that, she made a bunch of drops, until she eventually reached the eleventh spot on my list. So I've gone from loving her to death to disliking her. Oh, well. I might as well explain why I dislike her then.

I dislike Rapunzel mostly because she's an overdone character and I feel like she's shoved onto me a lot as a character. You're supposed to see her as this amazing character who is easily relatable because of how she has many hobbies, and well rounded, and (apparently) funny and such. Well, that's why I feel there's this irritating, "pressure" to like her. She's an overdone character. She has.. Everything. There's at least one thing she does that आप can probably relate to.

She's not interesting. She bores me a lot, honestly. There's not anything special about her या anything that stands out in her personality, it's just really bland. Whereas I can see at least one या two things in most of the other princesses that I either admire या it is something that stands out in their character. Even other डिज़्नी Princesses like Belle and मूलन have at least one quality that makes them stand out. Rapunzel doesn't have that.

Her personality bothers me as well. It's just.. Irritating and even obnoxious at times. Like how they tried too hard to make her relatable, they tried too hard to make her funny and have a good personality. Just like how her personality is bland, it's not entertaining either. Obviously टैंगल्ड is meant to have a lot of humor in it, it's one of the more, "comedic" डिज़्नी Princess films. But Rapunzel is not funny, honestly. Her humor just annoys me so much.

Overall, I really dislike Rapunzel. She's uninteresting, boring, annoying, overdone, and all around a poorly done character. Yes, I am actually saying this about my former प्रिय डिज़्नी Princess, believe it या not, but now I strongly dislike her. I'm done with having her as my favorite, welcome to the bottom three Rapunzel, where आप shall stay! (Well, possibly. xP)

scarletunicorn I sometimes feel like Disney created her with the idea of them having their own Barbie. Like, she has almost no negative traits, and she's capable of doing everything and more. IDK it's like they tried hard to make her as "likable" as possible without thinking that she could come out being a bit bland. That and she's such a Manic Pixie Dream Girl it hurts.

AudreyFreak ^^it sure doesn't help that she looks like Barbie too... and her whole movie is a big advertisement to buy Disney Princess stuff, pretty much, as marketable as any Barbie movie. On one hand, they seem to want her to be idealized in a good way like the older Classic princesses, but on the other hand, they also seem to be saying "but she's better than those weak damsels!". They make her sweet, an animal lover, have girly hobbies, etc., but they seem to want to compensate for that icky, stupid Snow White-y stuff by making her do ridiculous, unrealistic things like outwit a more manipulative and clever person than she is (Flynn), make a bunch of dangerous thugs be charmed by her, swing off cliffs, etc. I also hate when any writer or filmmaker tries to make clumsiness or dorkiness as a flaw. People whine ALL THE TIME about this in Anna but NOBODY complains about it in Rapunzel, ever. If these things make the audience find her endearing instead of see them as negative qualities, they're not really flaws. I would say her biggest flaw is putting her desires above all else, but that is not once addressed in the movie- rather it's portrayed as entirely the right thing to do. I would actually not mind self-centeredness as a flaw (it's originally a big flaw of my favorite girl Sansa Stark after all) but the problem is it's not portrayed as a flaw. She just HAS no real flaws. Her insecurity (which she is quick to grow out of) is found relatable, her clumsiness cute, her naivete adorable and charming. And as I keep saying, I can't stand that she is loved for every reason people despise about Snow White. Give credit where it's due, people.

MaidofOrleans Totally agree with all of this. This is precisely why she is my least favorite princess.
