I was wondering: Exactly why do a lot of people don't know about या are not familiar with ANY names of cat breeds/cat breed names, if at all?

Well, I wouldn't say that most people "don't know about या are not familiar with ANY names of cat breeds/cat breed names" because there are a few लोकप्रिय ones; Bengal, Persian, Siamese and Sphynx. Of course compare to dogs, that's really sad.

However, as to why most people can't name cat breeds like they can dog breeds, I have a guess as to why; बिल्ली look और similar to each other then कुत्ता do.

Sure, the difference between a Sphynx and a Persian is obviously, but the difference between a lot of other बिल्ली aren't quite as obviously as the above example या dogs, या at least on first glance it's not.

With dogs, आप have the tiny चिहुआहुआ to the huge great dane that have over 100 pounds in difference. But with cats, there's only probably around ten to twenty pounds in difference with the average small cat to the average big cat.

And it can't be because people don't like cats, the cat is either the most kept pet या the सेकंड most (can't remember which).

So, yeah....I think it's because of how similar most बिल्ली look to each other compare to dogs.

(Also, I know this सवाल didn't bring up कुत्ता at all, I just wanted...needed a comparison to make my point.)

i guess those who are not familiar with the breeds
are the ones who is not interested in बिल्ली breeds या don't care
~ all that matters to them is that it's cute and fluffy and they get to play with it
my personal favourite breed is ragdoll and calico and i also like scottish fold
