Chapter 1

“I can’t believe we just did that,” बोन्स said. “We should really go back and pay for our drinks.”
“That would defeat the purpose,” Booth कहा as he pulled away from the curb. “Remember, we’re developing your frontal lobe.”
बोन्स could barely contain a fit of giggles. It felt good to laugh. It seemed she had done so less and less often lately. The only times she smiled was when Booth was with her.
Bones’ दिल still raced, even after they were miles away from the bar. Sure, she knew it was dishonest, but it still excited her to do something she knew was wrong.
She and Booth drove through the streets of D.C. with no real direction. Brennan looked over to Booth, who was smiling back at her. In the last four years, he had come to be her constant, her friend. But still something more, something indefinable. Booth always knew what to say to her to make everything right. If someone would have told her it would have happened this way, she would have never believed them.
Brennan laid her hand on the armrest between them just as Booth did the same. Only their forearms rubbed together, but with just a little contact, she felt a jolt of consciousness, a stirring in her belly for him. A want that had never been fulfilled gnawed at her. She’d loved him for a long time and she felt it where she felt everything—in her bones.
“What should we do next?” बोन्स asked when they stopped at a red light.
“I have an idea.” Booth cut a U-turn and drove the car in the opposite direction.
“You know that was against the law,” बोन्स said, referring to his illegal turn.
“What good is being in the FBI if I can’t use it to my advantage every once in a while.”
“What are we doing?” Brennan asked when Booth parked in front of a Wal-Mart.
“You’ll see.” Booth grabbed her hand and pulled her from the car, his hand lingering on hers for a moment.
She followed him through the isles until they reached the toilet paper.
“I don’t understand how purchasing toiletries is going to help develop my frontal lobe,” बोन्स said. Booth gave a soft laugh. “Wait. We’re not going to steal these too, are we?”
“Nope. We’re going TPing.”
“We’re doing what?” she asked because she’d never heard the term.
“Toilet-papering. We roll toilet paper all over someone’s house and yard.”
“Why?”
“Because it’s fun.” He tossed a giant package of paper to her and grabbed two more.
“Whose house are we TPing,” she asked, saying the last word as if it were in a foreign language.
“Sweets, of course.”
She smiled at that. “He really does have it coming. He made us watch hours of that weird cartoon with cat-people on DVD after we had रात का खाना with Gordon Gordon.”
“That was Thunder बिल्ली and it was mine.”
After they checked out, they drove over to Sweets’ house and parked a few blocks away.
“Now, the important thing to remember is to be quiet,” Booth कहा once they were out of the car. Their arms were filled with rolls of toilet paper. “No laughing, Bones.”
“I’ll try, but I wasn’t trained in the army in the art of stealth like you.” She was smiling so wide that her cheeks actually hurt. She could not remember another night when she’d had और fun.
They worked together, and in minutes, the outside of Sweets’ house was covered in white, fluffy toilet paper. Just as they were completing the finishing touches, Sweets’ front porch light flipped on.
Booth and बोन्स froze, and in the darkness, Booth reached for her hand. A moment before Sweets front door opened, Booth pulled her away from the house. They hid behind a car a few feet away. Sweets was dressed in bright yellow बॉक्सर shorts with smiley faces and was swearing loudly when they peered over the हुड, डाकू of the neighbor’s car to see his reaction.
She couldn’t stop the fit of laughter if her life depended on it. A chuckle irrupted from deep within her and soon Booth joined her in her amusement.
Sweets pulled out a flashlight and directed the beam towards them. They quickly ducked, but बोन्स couldn’t be silent. Fat tears were now rolling down her cheeks and her breath came in pants.
Booth smiled down at her, but said, “Bones, you’re going to get us caught.”
“I’m sorry,” she said, almost sobbing with giggles “I can’t stop.” She clutched her side as another chortle escaped her lips.
“I guess I’ll just have to make you.” He reached for her then, his lips smacking into hers for a brief moment before he pulled back.
That stunned her into silence.
Before she could even react to his kiss, he stood up and moved away from her. “He’s gone. We better make a break for it,” he said. He offered her a hand and pulled her to her feet. “Come on, Bones.”
With her hand still in his, she followed him to the car. They drove from Sweets’ house in a tense quiet. Booth kept his eyes trained on the road. She knew she should say something about the kiss, laugh his tactic to shut her up, but she couldn’t make herself. She didn’t want to believe it didn’t mean anything. She wanted to pretend it was real.
She looked out the window of the SUV. The D.C. night was cool and cloudy, bordering on chilly. The air was thick with promised rain, and in the distance the Washington Monument glowed against the dark sky.
After a long while, she asked, “What should we do now?” She was afraid for the night to end, but knew it would have to eventually.
“I think we need some pie.”
“You know I don’t like pie, Booth.” She may not like the idea of pie, but she was thrilled their night wasn’t quite over.
“You’ve just never had the right pie.” Booth pulled in front of the भोजन करनेवाला, डिनर they frequented, cut the engine, and quickly went to her side to open the door for her. He tugged her gently along behind him. “Come on. It’s my treat.”
“Fine. But if I don’t like it आप owe me.”
“Owe आप what?” Booth कहा with a smile. His dark eyes had that familiar twinkle.
She looked him up and down and then said, “I don’t know yet.” Despite herself, she felt like flirting with him.
“Good. Something to look आगे to.”
They took their usual तालिका, टेबल द्वारा the window, and when the waitress came over to them, Booth placed their order.
“We’ll have two slices of that special pie and two coffees,” he said.
“What’s in this exceptional pie?” Brennan asked after the waitress departed.
“Ancient apples from outer Mongolia.”
“They don’t grow apples in Mongolia. The climate isn’t right. And if they are ancient, they’re probably not edible.” She looked up to see Booth chuckle and shake his head. “The apples aren’t Mongolian, are they?”
“No. They come from a little orchard in upstate New York. I’m telling you, Bones, you’ve never had सेब pie like this.”
“What makes आप think this is the pie that will turn me onto फल desserts?”
“Because these apples are grown द्वारा a couple that has been married for over fifty years. These apples are made with love.”
“Apples aren’t made with love. It’s a botanical process. आप have to get the soil and weather just right.”
“Just wait for it, my little pie virgin.”
“I’m not a pie virgin. I’ve had it before. That’s how I know I don’t care for it.”
“You’ll see.”
There was something about the way he’d कहा it, something underlying this need to make her like pie. Maybe Sweets was right. Maybe this was Booth’s seduction. No. Of course not. Booth didn’t see her like that. Sure he counted on her and respected her professionally, but that was where it ended. She would always be the nerd, the squint, to him, and he would always be that unattainable jock. The small किस they shared earlier was just a fluke.
She looked up and studied his features for a moment. Dead या alive, he had to be the most handsome man she’d ever seen. His बोन्स structure was typical of an alpha male. He had a perfect proportion of muscles . . . and of other body parts. She’d been surprised when she’d walked on him while he was in the bathtub a साल ago. Very pleasantly surprised. His outer physique was also flawless. But it wasn’t just his looks that attracted her. It was what lay under his bones, his honor, his humility, his heart.
A moment later, the waitress delivered their desserts and coffees. Brennan took a tentative bite of her pie. First she let the crust melt on her tongue, then the crystallized, sugary apples. The ratio of cinnamon to sugar seemed perfectly matched. So did the relationship between the crust and the apples.
“You seem to be enjoying it,” Booth कहा around a mouthful.
“I’m thinking about it.”
“What’s there to think about?”
“There’s a lot to think about.” Her words held और meaning then she’d meant to express and Booth stared back at her for a moment, as if he had a lot to think about, too.
“You have to admit it’s great pie.” He leaned back in his chair and stretched out his long legs.
“You’re right. It’s the best I’ve ever had.”
“That’s it?” He sat up. “You’re agreeing with me? No telling me the scientific process of pie making? No anthological theory of why we, the human race, are so obsessed with dessert?”
“I happen to like the pie.”
“Well, all right. It’s about time.”
They continued eating their मिठाई in silence. Every once in a while बोन्स would glace up at Booth and find him watching her.
“What?” she asked eventually.
“It’s rare to see आप so happy.”
“You bring that out in me, Booth.” She hadn’t meant to let that information slip, but it had.
He smiled at her and returned to his dessert. She didn’t know if it was a bad या good thing that he didn’t respond.
He finished off his सेब pie, sighed, and pushed the plate aside. “Have I converted you?” he asked referring to her empty plate.
“Yes, Booth. Yes, आप have.”
He clapped his hands, rubbing his palms together. “I knew it.”
“If आप start cackling like villain, I’m out of here.”
“I’m just happy you’ve finally had the pie. In my book, there’s only one thing better than food.”
“And what’s that?” Leaning towards him, she placed her elbows on the tabletop. Under the table, her knee brushed his.
“Sex.”
What he कहा caught her off guard. A rush of heat washed over her. She tried to ignore it, but she found herself hoping she hadn’t turned red from embarrassment.
“What? What did आप think I’d say?” Booth asked.
“It was just a bit blunt that’s all.”
“I’m just telling the truth.”
“Sex is nice, though.”
“I’m not talking about just sex. I’m talking about everything that goes with it. Remember that case with the horse-fetish people. Remember then I told आप I’ve never wanted just sex.”
“You want someone to cuddle with.”
“Don’t you?”
“I don’t like cuddling. It’s a needy ritual a woman inflicts on a man after intercourse to convince herself that he still wants her. In the animal kingdom, जानवर use sex strictly for procreation, to preserve the species. The male mates and then leaves. That’s still ingrained in the female brain some how. I don’t need cuddling. Maybe I don’t want the guy to stick around.”
“Maybe आप just haven’t found the right guy.” He looked at her poignantly.
She couldn’t say anything in response because she knew she had found the right guy. His stare was a little too intense for her, so she looked out the window. Sometime during their conversation, the rain had started. Funny, she hadn’t even heard it. Rain fell in thick curtains. Water rushed down the सड़क, स्ट्रीट and into the gutters.
When she looked back up at him, he was still watching her.
“It’s raining,” she said.
“We’ve needed it.”
Saying nothing, he pushed his chair away from the table, tossed enough money onto the तालिका, टेबल to cover the bill and a generous tip. He held his hand out for her and when he pulled her to her feet, he stayed close, not moving. Their bodies touched, belly to belly. And he still didn’t move. He leaned his head a fraction closer.
“Ya’ll have a goodnight,” the waitress called, causing them to break apart.
Brennan’s breath was so labored from the contact that she hoped Booth couldn’t tell just how nervous she was. Something between them had definitely just shifted and she wasn’t quite sure what it was.
“I’ll take आप home,” he said.
He didn’t wait for her as he exited and she wondered if she’d done something wrong. He suddenly seemed irritated and she hoped it wasn’t at her. Once in the SUV, they drove in silence through the quiet D.C. streets. The rain splashed against the windshield, the wipers doing the best they could against the downpour.
“Where are we going?” she finally asked. “You just passed the Jeffersonian. I need to get my car.”
“I picked आप up tonight, remember?” His eyes cut to her for only a moment and then returned to the road.
“I’d forgotten.”
Booth parked in one of the visitor spots in the underground parking गेराज of her apartment complex and turned off the car’s engine. He sat for a moment, not moving, and then turned to her. “I’ll walk आप up to your place.”
“You don’t have to. I know how to protect myself. I always have my gun.” She patted her पर्स where the gun was concealed and unbuckled her seatbelt. She then reached for the door but before she could open it, he caught her wrist.
“I कहा I’ll walk you.”
They stood apart, each taking a side of the elevator as they rode it up. He didn’t speak to her nor did he look at her. What had she done to upset him? He had seemed like he wanted to किस her at the रात का खाना and now he didn’t want anything to do with her. She was surprised at how much that hurt. And how much she wanted to cry.
As she unlocked her door, she could feel his warm breath against the nape of her neck. After the door was opened, she stood there with her back to him, not wanting the night to be over. And even worse, she’d have to face the fact that she loved Booth और than wanted to admit.
She had done a few bad things tonight. Why not one more? She could spend the night with him and chalk it up to learning how to be bad.
“I don’t want to be alone tonight, Booth,” she said, still facing away from him.

Chapter 2

“Stay with me,” she added after a moment.
That was all he needed to hear. He’d been waiting for her to say as much for years. The moment he met her, he was strangely attracted to her. Dr. Temperance Brennan, brilliant and somewhat arrogant, was the most beautiful woman he’d ever known.
With his hands on her waist, he turned her to face him, and bracketed her with his arms. Ever since she’d dressed up as Wonder Woman for Halloween, he’d longed to run his fingers over her hipbones. And he did just that now.
His face was inches from hers. Booth angled himself against the door jam, placing his hand above her head, and leaned into her. He rested his forehead against hers and concentrated on breathing. What was wrong with him? His life had been threatened hundreds of times. And yet, here he was, afraid of what this vulnerably beautiful woman thought of him. “
“I just have one सवाल for you, Bones.” His thumb ran over her bottom lip and then down her chin, holding her face in place. “Why do आप want me to stay with आप tonight?”
She rolled her lips inward and then spoke. “You know why. You’ve always known.”
At the same instance, they reached for each other. As their bodies collided, his lips crashed into hers and a moment later his tongue thrust into her accepting mouth. He plowed all ten fingers into her hair, angling her head up, deepening the kiss. She didn’t fight for dominance in the kiss, which surprised him. She simply moved with him, obviously enjoying it as much as he did.
Gently, he pushed her inside the apartment, and with his foot, kicked the door closed behind them. Pausing in the inner hallway, Booth pressed Brennan against the wall. Wanting to gauge her reaction, he pulled away from her for a moment and looked into her eyes. He only saw desire.
She opened her mouth to speak, so once again he covered her lips with his. It had already come this far and he wasn’t going to take the chance of her rationalizing herself out of it. No. Tonight they would consummate something that had been brewing for four years.
He placed Brennan’s hands above her head and held them there. With his other hand he traced his fingertips down her arms, to her collarbone, and then to her breasts. They were as full and lush as he thought they’d be.
Surprising him, she yanked him closer and spun him around, reversing their position. Brennan pushed her hands under his shirt, running them along his belly and up to his chest. When the pad of her thumb brushed over his nipple, his breath came out in a hiss.
The deft movement of her fingers felt wonderful, but he couldn’t help but want to touch her, too. It was his turn to snake his hands up her shirt. When he reached the valley of her breasts, he कहा and silent thank आप when he realized her bra had a front closure. He popped it open, freeing her breasts, and took their weight into his waiting hands.
Brennan let out a catchy breath and let her head fall to the side. He moved his mouth to her exposed neck as his fingertips brought her breasts to stiff peaks. Through her top, he kissed her. Her labored breathing tickled his ears and he was overcome with the intense need for her, to be inside her, to be one with her.
He wanted to see her, all of her, but it was too dark in the shadowy hallway. Ready to take her to bed, he lifted her until their pelvises were touching and her long legs wrapped around his waist. She ground herself against him, causing a low moan to vibrate from within him. She reached for his बेल्ट buckle, but he stopped her before she could get it undone.
“Not so fast,” Booth said.
He expected for her to protest, but he was met with only her cloudy gaze. His lips found hers again. Never breaking their kiss, he carried her to her bedroom, and laid her on the bed.
He made quick work of removing his clothes and soon joined her. He reached for her कमीज, शर्ट and she sat up to accommodate his undressing her. Her bra was soon tossed aside. He ran his hands over her soft, naked flesh.
He undid her स्कर्ट and slipped it and her panties down her thighs. She was long and lean, her skin the color of porcelain. He took time to enjoy her body, to take in the moment of her surrender. He looked down at her kiss-swollen lips and she looked almost innocent. He knew what he saw in her eyes was complete trust in him.
He returned his attention back to her breasts. Taking one in his mouth, he moved his tongue around her nipple, sucking lightly until he heard her sigh his name. While keeping his mouth where it was, he moved his hand down her belly, over her narrow hipbones, and down to her downy, auburn curls. She was wet with wanting him.
Her body quivered beneath his as he waited. For the first time since he kissed her, he stopped to सवाल himself. Once this happened, everything would change. There would be no going back. After tonight, he knew he could no longer keep his feelings for her to himself.
As if sensing his hesitation, she looked up at him, and placed her hand on his cheek. “Please, Booth. Now,” was all she कहा as she tilted her hips up to meet his.
Even if he had wanted to, he couldn’t have stopped it then. He sank into her swiftly, and she felt like a silk fist tightening around him, as wet a mouth. His hips took on a rhythmic motion as he plunged into her. It went on and one, until both of them were slick with sweat. With each stroke, he felt an orgasm creeping up on him
“Seeley,” she कहा as her body quickened around him and her legs hugged him, drawing him even deeper inside her. He watched the wave of emotions ripple over her and he couldn’t hold on for another second. He let himself find release in her.
Both of their breathing satisfied and labored, he collapsed onto her.
“I feel much better,” Brennan panted.
“So do I.”
He was surprised and disappointed when she reached for a thin लबादा, बागे at the foot of her bed. Wrapping the लबादा, बागे around herself, she stood.
“Where are आप going?” he asked.
“I’m thirsty. Can I get आप anything?”
“Don’t आप want to cuddle?” he asked jokingly, and turned to rest on his side.
“I told आप I don’t believe in cuddling.”
“Don’t आप want to prove it to yourself that I won’t bolt while you’re in the kitchen?”
“I know you, Booth.” She sat अगला to him, and he pulled her close and kissed her shoulder through her robe. “You don’t bolt. आप stay put.”

Chapter 3

“How are आप so sure?” he asked as he slipped the लबादा, बागे off her shoulder.
“Systematically speaking, you’re very loyal, especially to me.”
“Wonder why that is,” he said.    There was a lot of meaning behind what he’d said. She could see it in the intense look in his brown eyes. Not wanting to face it, she escaped down the hall. Once she reached the kitchen, she steadied herself against the रसोई, रसोईघर counter.
What had she just done? She had wanted to be bad, but what had just transpired between her and Booth wasn’t the sexual gratification that she was used to, it was more. It was the closest thing to a spiritual experience she’d ever had. But this would ruin their working relationship, something that she had grown to प्यार and depend on. Once this ended, he would leave her just like everyone else she’d ever loved.
The rational side of her brain always dominated her every thought, except when it came to Booth. She claimed to want nothing to do with traditional relationships. She was, after all, a strong independent woman. She didn’t need a man—but she wanted one.
She wanted Booth.
“I’m getting thirsty in here,” he yelled from the bedroom. “And lonely.”
Brennan grabbed two water bottles from the fridge and returned to the bedroom. The soft glow of a bedside lamp cast an inviting light in the room. The room smelled of sex and satisfaction. Resting against a pile of pillows, Booth looked up at her expectantly. Only a thin sheet covered his lower half. His shoulders were broad and his chest well defined. Every ounce of him was as excellently proportioned as she’d imagined it’d be.
“What are आप smiling at?” he asked, cocking an eyebrow at her.
She hadn’t realized she’d let the pleasure of looking at him दिखाना in her facial expressions. “You look nice,” she said.
“So do you. I like this unkempt sexed-up look आप got going.” He pulled her back to the बिस्तर and took the लबादा, बागे off her shoulder. The water bottles lay forgotten on the floor. “But आप look even better without this on.”
He pulled the लबादा, बागे further down, exposing her back. He kissed his way up her spine until the reached the back of her neck. When he took her earlobe into his mouth and one of her breasts in his hand she gave an involuntary sigh. He pulled her back down onto the बिस्तर with him.
How did he know exactly what she wanted? It was as if he was पढ़ना her mind. He was a very giving and skilled lover. And it had only just begun. They had made the mistake of sleeping together once. Once he might be able to forgive. They were overcome द्वारा a monetary passion. But tomorrow he would regret this. She just knew it.
“Don’t feel like आप have to stay here tonight,” बोन्स said.
“You’re not getting rid of me that easily. I’m staying.”
“Really. आप can go. I don’t mind.”
“I know what you’re doing, Bones. You’re trying to pick a fight with me so I’ll leave and आप don’t have to deal with what just happened between us.”
“I was developing my frontal lobe and आप were here to help me with that. We both know how wrong sleeping together is. So, that’s why it happened.”
“That’s not the only reason. And we both know that, too.” He placed her hand around him, and she closed her fist around him, stroking him gently.
And in an instant, she was on her back and he was inside her again. Their rhythm was matched as they moved together. He moved his hand in between their bodies and found her tight bud of nerve endings. He stroked her outside as he moved within. It wasn’t long until she felt that familiar tightening in her belly and then gave into it. A moment later he joined her in that sweet, private abyss.
He stayed on चोटी, शीर्ष of her, inside her for a long time.
“I don’t want to move,” he said. “You feel too good.”
She was still curled around him. “So do you.”
He sighed and rolled off of her but pulled her into him, her bottom fixed into his lap. “This is nice,” murmured into her neck.
“Yes it is,” she agreed.
“Come on, admit it, cuddling isn’t so bad.”
“No, it’s not, but I’m not engaging in it to prove anything.”
He chuckled into her hair and pulled her even closer.

Chapter 4

Booth’s growling stomach woke him from a dream. He was making प्यार to बोन्स again. And then he brushed up against her, the woman in his dreams here in lying अगला to him. What had happened was very real, and he was very happy about it. “I’m starving,” he murmured.
“It’s the middle of the night,” Brennan complained as she turned to face him.
“A man’s stomach can’t tell the difference between night and day. It only knows when it’s hungry and not. We’ve expelled a lot of energy.
She lay on her stomach, her lean back exposed. He couldn’t help but run his fingers over her spine. He was surprised at how soft her skin was and how intoxicating she smelled, a mixture of फूल and soap.
Through heavily lidded eyes, she looked up at him, and looked as sexy as hell.
“Maybe खाना can wait,” he कहा as he ran his tongue up her neck and nipped at her ear.
She sighed. “No. you’re right. We should eat something. If I don’t get some खाना into you, आप may not be able to perform.”
“Oh, I always perform, Bones. Well I might add.”
She smiled and slipped on her robe. “That much is true. But how about some पेनकेक्स to make आप perform even better,” she कहा raising her eyebrows.
“Pancakes would be perfect.” He stepped into his बॉक्सर shorts and followed her down the hall to the kitchen.
With his elbows on the तालिका, टेबल and his chin propped in his hands, Booth watched her as she prepared the pancakes. Just like everything she did, her meal preparation was methodical. After a few minutes, they both कहा down to their middle-of-the-night breakfast.
“You’re quite the little homemaker,” he said.
“I’m a very good cook.”
“It must be hard to be good at everything,” he said, before smiling and taking a bite.
“It’s not as easy as it looks.” She smiled back.
They finished their pancakes, and Booth did the dishes while Brennan tidied up the kitchen.
Booth came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. “I think it’s time we get back to bed,” he whispered in her ear, sending a shiver through her.
She wiped her hands on a dish towel and said. “I better take a shower. I have syrup allover.”
“No आप don’t. You’re just being a tease.”
He was sorely disappointed when she brushed past him. Keeping her back to him, she only turned her head, and then her लबादा, बागे dropped to the floor.
“Maybe I am,” she smiled. Naked, she padded off to the bathroom.
He decided to give her a few मिनटों to herself to wonder if he would follow her. She might have every reason to be cocky, but he still wanted her to सवाल herself just a little.
When he reached the bathroom, it was engulfed in sweet smelling steam. The शावर, शॉवर curtain was left partially open and he was granted an unrestricted view of Brennan’s slick, bare backside.
He dropped his boxers to the floor and stepped into the शावर, शॉवर with her. Booth grabbed the soap and began to lather up her back, taking a turn on each shoulder blade before he reached around to her front to caress each breast with soapy hands. “You’re lack of modesty it refreshing,” he कहा with a grin.
Though she didn’t turn around, he heard her laugh through the running water.
“I suppose you’d like to know what I thought of finding आप in the bathtub,” she कहा over her shoulder.
“Well?” he asked.
“I was impressed.”
She turned to face him. “And now?” he कहा pressing his erection into her soft stomach.
“Very impressed.”
His mouth sought hers and was met his with a blinding passion. Just as in the hall earlier tonight, he lifted her until she wrapped her legs around his waist. But this time, he slide right inside as if he’d never been gone.
At this angle, he was allowed a deeper access than ever before. Each time he thrust into her and filled her to the hilt. A few moments later, he felt her body quicken around him.
The warm water beat against his back as he pulsed into her. After he regained his strength, he grabbed her under her knees, placed a hand on her back, and picked her up. It wasn’t until he turned off the शावर, शॉवर that she looked up at him, before she’d been too लॉस्ट in her own release.
“You aren’t seriously carrying me to bed, are you?” she asked.
“Deal with it, Bones,” he कहा and lightly tossed her onto the bed.
Under the light blanket, they curled up together. He had intended to make प्यार to her again, but the exhaustion that overtook surprised him. It was the release of years of tension between them, sexual and emotional. The sun would be up soon anyhow and they could do it all again tomorrow. Over and over.
They drifted off into a peaceful sleep together.
In the early morning, Booth’s cell phone woke them from a deep sleep. Booth reached for his phone, knocking it to the floor. He mumbled a profanity under his breath before retrieving it. He flipped the phone opened and said, “This is Booth.”
He stood and paced the room as he listened to Parker’s mother rambling on the other end. “You need to slow down. What happened?” He waited again as she explained. “Tell him I’ll be right there,” he कहा and snapped his phone shut.
“What’s wrong?” बोन्स asked as she brought the sheet up around herself.
“That was Rebecca. Parker fell off his bike. He’s in the emergency room. They think his arm might be broken.” He pulled on his boxers and pants, and gathered up his shoes. “I’m sorry. I have to go.”
He was so distracted द्वारा his son’s well being that it wasn’t until he’d reached the front door that he realized he hadn’t kissed her goodbye. When he turned to go back to her, he bumped into her.
“Sorry,” she कहा as she secured the sheet around herself.
“I’ll call when I can.”
“You don’t have to.”
“Bones, I don’t want to get into this right now.” He reached to take her into his arms but mid-movement, he felt his phone vibrate again. His arms fell to his side. “I have to go,” he कहा again and left her standing in the doorway of her apartment.

Chapter 5

Brennan tried to act causally as she took a सीट in front of Booth’s desk. She’d लॉस्ट count of how many times he’d called her over the last two days. He’d even come द्वारा her apartment, but when he knocked on the door, she pretended not to be home.
She had been intent on avoiding him for as long as possible in hopes that whatever happened between them that weekend had a chance to simmer. She knew Booth would never want her like she wanted him. The sooner they got over it and moved on, the better.
But after Booth had called her Monday morning repeatedly and she’d ignored him, he called Cam and told her he needed to see बोन्स about a case. When Cam approached her about it, she had no choice than to accept her boss’s request that she meet with Booth. If she didn’t, Cam would know something was wrong.
She watched Booth as he came around his desk. He wasn’t wearing his suit coat, so his पिस्तौलदान and gun were दिखा रहा है and his badge hung from his belt. He looked commanding and sexy, yet he looked like an FBI agent and her partner. And that reminded her that what happened this weekend could never happen again.
“How’s Parker?” she asked
“Fine. It was a clean break. Not as serious as we thought. He actually thinks the cast is cool.”
“If आप want I can take a look at his X-Rays.”
“It’s okay. He कहा he feels much better now. I’ll let आप know if anything changes.”
Not able to keep eye contact with him any longer she looked away to study the office pictures she’d seen a millions times.
"We’re going to have to talk about it eventually,” he sighed.
“Talk about what?”
“You know what.”
“I haven’t the faintest idea.”
He sat on the edge of his डेस्क and leaned down to her, his face just inches away from hers. He wasn’t going to किस her was he? Not here at his work. At least the blinds covering his office windows were drawn shut.
She tried to हटाइए away from him, but he stood over her and placed his hands on the arm of the chair, leaving her no escape.
“What happened between us was a chemical reaction,” she said. “We were developing my frontal lobe. People sometimes need to remind themselves that they are alive. आप did that for me.”
“All I did was remind आप that आप were still alive?”
“You did a very good job of it,” she added, hoping that would end it.
He smirked at that. When he reached her, he raised his eyebrows, and rubbed the pad of his thumb over her full bottom lip. Her breath was suspended in her throat, and all she could think was that it had been too long since he’d kissed her.
“How good?”
बोन्स crossed her arms over her chest. “I won’t answer that here.”
Booth moved away from her, stuck his head out of his office door and called to the receptionist. “Dr. Brennan and I have a very important case that needs review. Please hold all calls and no visitors.” With that he shut and locked his office door, and closed all the blinds on the windows.
“What do आप think you’re doing? We don’t have a case.”
“Yes, we do.” He pulled her to her feet. “This has nothing to do with your little foray into badness. आप still want me, Bones. Go ahead, admit it.”
“No. This is completely irrational and I won’t have any part of it.”
She tried to step past him, but he stopped her just short of grabbing the door knob. With her back still to him, he approached her. Pushing her hair aside, he nuzzled her neck, his lips running from her spine up to her hairline.
He reached around to her front and unbuttoned her coat, and ran his hands from her hips, to her ribcage, and palmed breasts. Through her shirt, he brought her soft breasts to aching peaks.
She was so लॉस्ट in what he was doing that she hadn’t even realized that while one hand teased her nipple, the other had bunched her स्कर्ट up around her thighs. She gasped, and immediately bit her lip to keep from crying out, when his hand ducked inside her panties. He found her very wet.
“Booth—”
“Shhh,” his voice was gruff and laden with desire.
“But we can’t.”
To stop her protests, his lips crushed into hers. She arched back to meet his mouth, and was लॉस्ट in an intense, meaningful kiss. He pulled her panties down her legs and she silently stepped out of them. When his fingers slipped into her, her head fell आगे against the door. She knew she’d कहा that she didn’t believe in magic, but that’s just exactly what his fingers were—magic. As they slid in and out, his thumb found her center and rubbed, not too light, not too hard. Her breathing was so labored that she wasn’t sure she could catch her breath.
The release was intense as she rolled her forehead from side to side against the cool door of his office. With his hands on her hips, he turned her to face him. His face was covered in a slight sheen of perspiration, and through his ढीला पतलून, ढीला she could see just how aroused he was.
“You were saying?” he asked with a half smile.
Every rational thought flew out of her brain as she lunged for him. Her legs wrapped around his waist as he stumbled backwards towards his desk. He sat down there, bringing her down with him to rest on his lap.
She struggled with his बेल्ट and zipper, but a moment later, he sprang free of his confines, and he sighed with relief. With his hands on her hips, he brought her down on himself. As she began to हटाइए over him, he unbuttoned her कमीज, शर्ट and kissed the tops of her breasts.
When they reached that untouchable sphere together, he buried his face in her neck, breathing her in, struggling to regain his breath.
“I l—” what she was about to say was broken off द्वारा a knock at the office door.
They jumped apart. Was she just about to tell him that she loved him? In the moment, it had seemed so natural, so right but now it terrified her.
“I कहा no disruptions,” Booth yelled, a little too loudly.
“It’s the deputy director,” the receptionist कहा from behind the door. “He कहा it was important.”
“Tell him I’ll be just a moment,” Booth said.
“I better go.”
“We’re not done talking about this, Bones,” his voice bordered on angry.
“We didn’t do a whole lot of talking.”
“That seems to be our problem. Before this I couldn’t get आप to keep your opinions to yourself, and now, आप won’t tell me what you’re thinking.”
She opened her mouth to argue, but stop when there was another soft knock. She turned to go, and was और than a little surprised when Booth spun her around, pushed her against the door, and with his expert lips, made her forget all the reasons they shouldn’t be together. In one तत्पर, तेज, स्विफ्ट move, he open office door and showed the deputy director in.
“I believe आप know my partner, Dr. Temperance Brennan,” Booth कहा to the director.
The director reached out and shook Brennan’s hand. “Nice to see आप again,” he said.
Brennan only nodded and grunted a reply before she stumbled out of the office.
“You’ll have to excuse her,” she heard Booth say. “We’re working on a very strenuous case. We just keep going round and round, finding no answers.”
With that the door to Booth’s office closed. On autopilot, Brennan took the elevator downstairs, got into her car and drove back to the Jeffersonian. Had she and Booth really just had sex on his desk? In the FBI federal building?
Still in a daze, she entered her office, put on her lab coat, and sat at her desk. For along while, she sat there, staring at nothing, लॉस्ट in thought. She jumped when she heard her name.
“Tempe? Sweetie, are आप all right?”
“What?” She looked up to see Angela.
“Booth called me. He कहा आप weren’t answering your phone.”
Brennan looked down to her cell phone. Three missed calls. When had the phone rung?
Angela studied her for a moment and then gasped. “You had sex . . . With Booth!”
“Angela, shhh. How did आप know?”
“Honey, I know you.” Angela closed Brennan’s office door and then sat in the chair closest to the desk. “Tell me everything.”
“There’s nothing to tell. Nothing happened.”
“Like hell it didn’t.” A smile spread across her face. “It was good, too. Was it everything you’d always dreamed it would be?”
“I never dreamed about me and Booth.”
“Yes, आप did.”
“You’re romanticing it. It only happened that one time…okay about three times that night…and then in his office.”
“You had sex in the FBI building. I प्यार it!”
“It was just sex,” Brennan explained.
“It’s never just sex.”
“That’s what Booth said.”
“Well, he’s right. It’s not just sex. At least not between the two of you.”
“Booth doesn’t want any sort of nonprofessional relationship between us.”
“Yes, he does, sweetie. Booth loves you.”
“No he doesn’t. Booth would never प्यार someone like me.”
“Why not?”
“It’s complicated,” Brennan कहा as she moved around Angela and opened the door of her office. “I have work to do.”
“It can wait. This is way और important than identifying बोन्स from Limbo.”
“It’s not important. I told you. It’s nothing.” With that she walked out into the lab still trying to convince herself that it was nothing, too.

Chapter 6

“You left these in my office,” Booth said, holding up her lacy पेटी on his extended finger.
She grabbed the underwear and shoved them into her lab कोट pocket before anyone in the lab could see. “Thank आप for returning those,” she कहा with her back still turned. “I was wondering where I’d left them.”
“Glad I solved the mystery,” he कहा on a laugh.
Why wouldn’t she look at him? Why couldn’t she just accept what had happened? He came up behind her and placed his hand on the back of her arm. Her scent intoxicated him as he leaned in.
“So, I guess that means you’re not wearing any panties right now,” he whispered, his voice filled of desire.
“Dr. Brennan, I found—” Hodgins froze and starred at them.
Booth and Brennan sprang apart. Booth felt his face reddening with embarrassment. He’d come here intending to discuss things with Brennan, not to have a repeat of what had happened earlier, even though he’d like that very much.
He still couldn’t believe what had happened between them in his office a few hours ago. He’d always been so careful in his career, but when he saw her there in his office, he couldn’t help himself. And he was hard now just thinking about it. He knew that if Hodgins hadn’t walked in on them when he did, he’d have Brennan with her कमीज, शर्ट back up around her waist, and on her सोफ़ा, सोफे right now.
“Am I interrupting something?”
“No. Not at all. Booth and I were just discussing a case.”
“Must be some case.” Hodgins कहा as he divided a look between them.
Booth moved away from Brennan, afraid that if they stood too close, Hodgins
would be able to guess what had happened between them.
“What did आप want to दिखाना me, Jack?”
“I found some particulates on the remains that Clark was working on.”
“That’s wonderful!” she exclaimed too loudly. “Please, दिखाना me.”
“You want to see it?” he asked, clearly astonished. “I can just tell आप what I
found.”
“No. I am very thorough with my team. I want to see what आप discovered.”
“O-okay,” Hodgins कहा and led her out of the room.
Without looking back at Booth, Brennan and Hodgins exited. Booth knew what
she was doing. She was still trying to avoid the topic of the shift that had taken place between them. Booth took a सीट on her सोफ़ा, सोफे and placed his head in his hands. She wasn’t going to easily admit to liking him as और than a partner, but he would have to convince her that it was okay to let herself go and just be with him.
Booth hadn’t only come to talk about them, but there was a case that needed
looking into. It was nothing pressing, but required surveillance. He could have easily passed it off to another agent, but he wanted an excuse to be with her. Surely if they were forced to sit in a car together for hours, then they have to face what was happening between them—what had been happening for a long time now.
He waited in her office for over a half an hour. He was sure she was trying to avoid him, but he wasn’t going to let her get away with things so easily.
When she eventually came back into her office, she said, “What are आप still doing here?”
“We have a case.”
“So. I’m needed here at the Jeffersonian.”
“No. You’re not. I talked to Cam. She wants आप in on this one.” Okay, so he hadn’t कहा anything to Cam, but Brennan didn’t need to know anything about that. He just needed to get her alone again so they could talk.
“Fine. But I can’t be gone long. There are several cases here that need my attention.”
“No, there aren’t. Cam कहा आप were free for the night.” Another lie couldn’t hurt.
Without a word to him, Brennan removed her lab कोट and walked through the door of her office. When they were in his SVU and she still wouldn’t speak to him, he decided to let the subject of them drop for a while. Maybe not talking about it was the best approach with her.
It had gotten dark द्वारा the time he pulled up to a secluded, tree-lined सड़क, स्ट्रीट in an upper class neighborhood. The house they parked in front of was white with large white columns.
“What are we doing here?” बोन्स finally कहा after they’d sat there for a मिनट या two.
“Surveillance.”
“On who? The mayor?”
“No. His assistant.”
The bureau had wanted to look into the personal dealings of the mayor’s assistant for a while. It was a very, very low propriety, but still it was a potential case some where down the road.
“Does this involve बोन्स in anyway?”
“We’re not quite sure yet, but that’s why I’ve got आप here just in case.”
“Cam didn’t tell आप that I was needed on this case.”
Booth only shrugged and sent her a sly smile. She glared at him and crossed her arms over her middle, an action that only focused his attention to her breast, a part of her body he had recently become very acquainted with, and he wanted to get reacquainted.
Trying not to gawk at her, Booth shifted in his seat. But it didn’t work. Every few seconds, he’d glance at her out of the corner of his eyes.
“Booth, we’ve been here for over an घंटा and nothing has happened.”
“That’s the way it is with surveillance. Nothing will happen for forever and then all the sudden, there’s action. And when what you’ve been waiting for all that time finally happens, it’s magical.”
“You’re a little too excited to do surveillance.”
“It’s just part of the job.”
“Don’t cops usually take shifts? Well, you’re taking the first one. I couldn’t sleep last night and I’m exhausted. I’m putting the seats down and I’m taking a nap.”
With that she disappeared into the backseat. In the rearview mirror, Booth watched her as she removed her जैकेट and rolled it up for a pillow. He rested his head against the head rest. He was overcome with how much he wanted to touch her. It had only been a few hours since they’d made प्यार in his office, and yet, he wanted to do it again. He wanted to do it for forever. Convincing बोन्स that he wanted this to last for a long time would be hard. She was too कड़वा and too rational to believe in marriage. He’d have to make her see just how wonderful forever could be.
He locked the car doors and climbed into the backseat with her. She stirred and said, “What are आप doing?”
“I’m taking my shift.” He snuggled up beside her.
“I just fell asleep. Can’t आप wait a while?” she asked through sleepy eyes.
“I’ve waited long enough.”
His किस was a little rougher than he intended, but just like earlier today he couldn’t help himself. He was overcome द्वारा his feelings for her and did his best to express them in the kiss.
He was और than a little disappointed when she pulled away. “Booth, we can’t. One mistake was enough.”
“I remember a lot और than one time.”
She tried not to, but she smiled at him. “You know what I mean. Our careers and partnership are too important to jeopardize for some fling.”
“Bones, आप we both know this isn’t a fling.”
“You say that now, but things will change. We’ll change.”
“No, we won’t.”
“Statistically speaking, office romances end badly.”
She straightened her कोट and reached for the door. “We can’t do this anymore.”
With that she hopped out of the car and took off down the sidewalk. For a long moment, Booth simply stared after her. What if she would never be able to प्यार him like he loved her? She’d कहा she didn’t believe in प्यार या marriage, and that’s exactly what he wanted from her. Booth didn’t care if their new relationship ruined everything he’d worked for. All he wanted—all he ever wanted—was her.
When बोन्स disappeared into the shadows of a small side road, Booth leaped from the car and ran after her. He finally caught up to her in what looked like a small neighborhood rose garden.
Taking her wrist in his hand, he stopped her. “Bones, आप don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Look at आप and Cam.”
“We’re still friends.”
“But आप broke up. Monogamy is completely unrealistic.”
“Maybe until आप find the right person.”
“How are we supposed to know when that happens? In North America alone, there are potentially millions of prospective mates. There is no way to know for certain you’ve found the right one until you’ve accessed them all.”
He grabbed her then, engulfed her in a tight embrace. His mouth was almost assaulting on hers. She held on to him like she couldn’t भालू to let him go. Even though he knew she may never able to commit to him, he wouldn’t let her get away so easily.
Together they moved until her back came into contact with a tree. His deft fingers unbuttoned her जैकेट and blouse, and a moment later her breast were free of her bra and in his waiting hands. When he ran his thumbs over their tips, her soft sigh echoed in the empty garden.
Booth placed his open palm at the center of her chest over her erratic heartbeat. He broke the kiss, but kept his lips just a breath away. “Tell me, Bones, has anyone ever made आप feel like this?”
“Never,” she कहा on a catchy breath.
Booth’s lips returning to hers, he kissed her again and again with escalating
tempo. His hands smoothed up her thighs, pushing her स्कर्ट up as he went. He was shocked and very thrilled at what he discovered.
“Bones, आप naughty girl. आप forgot your underwear,” he कहा before he sent a long finger deep inside her. She practically growled when he started up a delightful rhythm, and he kept it up until she shuttered around him.
Though the night was chilly, बोन्स skin was glistening with perspiration, her hair sticking to her face. Her normally neat clothes were rumbled and out of place. She looked completely debauched, and he’d never seen her look और beautiful.
It took both of them a long while to catch their breath. When they’d both recovered, बोन्स reached for his बेल्ट buckle. The moment he was freed, she curled her small hand around his hardness, stroked, and gently pulled him closer.
With his hands under her bare derriere, he lifted her until she could slide onto him. He thrust upwards until he she sobbed his name. It took only moments for them both to be sated and happy.
“I प्यार you,” बोन्स whispered into the quiet garden.
Booth pulled back to gage her reaction. Could it be possible? Did she really just tell him that she loves him?
“Bones—” Booth began, but simultaneously their cell phones rang.
They looked at each other, each not wanting to disrupt the moment, but there was only one reason, they both would be getting called.
The moment was gone. They stepped away from each other and flipped open their phones.
After listening to their calls, they turned back to each other. “We have a case,” Booth said.
“Cam कहा she’d met us there.”
They restored their clothing and without another word returned to the SUV. There was so much to say, but now just wasn’t the time.

Chapter 7

और aware of him than ever, बोन्स worked through the night with Booth at her side. The murder scene was bad, but nothing she hadn’t seen before. She couldn’t believe what had just happened just hours पूर्व in the neighborhood garden.
How could she be so unintelligent? She actually told him she loved him. It was stupid. So stupid. She’d never told any man she loved him, and she certainly wasn’t going to start now. She would never admit to an emotion that she didn’t believe could last या even exist.
It was the sex. Wonderful sex will make आप say just about anything. It was a fleeting feeling. Yes, she loved what he did to her, but she didn’t प्यार him.
Thankfully, Booth had been called away to सवाल witnesses at the scene, and she could relax a little without him so close. With any luck, she could get away without talking to him anymore that night. Lately, talking always lead to sex and they definitely would not be engaging in that any more.
Since they had arrived, rain had fallen in steady waves. But it hadn’t kept the onlookers away. Crowded together under umbrellas, they stood just behind the yellow tape. Puddles formed at Bones’ feet, but she barely noticed.
“Oh, that’s gross,” Dr. Sweets कहा as he looked down at the decaying body. He cupped his hand over his mouth as if he might puke at any second.
“Then go प्रोफ़ाइल the suspects,” Cam कहा as she examined the bloated flesh of the victim. “That’s why I called आप here anyways.”
Before Sweets passed out, he trooped off after Booth to the crowd of bystanders.
“Dr. Brennan?”
बोन्स looked up from her squatting position to realize that Cam had been speaking to her. “What is it, Dr. Saroyan?”
“I asked आप if you’d found cause of death yet?”
“No.”
Cam moved to the opposite side of the body and began a cursory exam of the remaining flesh.
Through the rain, बोन्स watch Booth as he moved among the crowd of people, asking सवालों and taking down names. As if he could feel her eyes on him, Booth turned to face her. Even in the downpour, she could make out his smile before he turned back to his work. He was probably laughing at her.
Why did she tell him she loved him? She’d been so caught up in the moment that the declaration seemed right. But now it made her weak with sorrow. He didn’t want anything और from her than a physical relationship. When that was over, when he found someone else, he wouldn’t want to be her partner anymore. She’d never see him again.
“Dr. Brennan, are आप feeling all right?” Cam asked again.
It took बोन्स a moment to break her gaze away from Booth.
“Yes, I’m fine,” बोन्स कहा and tried to return to work.
“You’re definitely not fine.” Cam removed her rubber दस्ताना, दस्ताने and felt Bones’ forehead with the back of her hand. “You’re burning up. आप must be coming down with something and the rain won’t help.”
“That’s actually an old wives tale. The rain doesn’t make आप get sick. Germs do.”
Cam smiled slightly and shook her head. “I know that. Why don’t we just have everything shipped back to the Jeffersonian? Go home. We can start the investigation tomorrow.”
“Really. I’m perfectly healthy.”
“Honey, I’m a doctor and आप like you’re about to collapse. Go home. We can take it from here.”
“I don’t have my car. Booth drove me.”
“Booth!” Cam yelled over the pouring rain. “Dr. Brennan needs a ride home.”
When Booth started to make his way towards them, बोन्स turned back to Cam and said, “No!”
“No?” Cam questioned and then studied Brennan for a moment. Realization crept over her face and then she said, “Oh. Oh.” Her brown eyes widen. “You and Booth?”
“What? No.” Brennan said.
“You did!” Cam कहा in a loud whisper.
“What’s up?” Booth asked when he reached them.
Cam’s smile widened, but then relaxed. “Dr. Brennan isn’t feeling well. If you’ve questioned everyone आप needed to, why don’t आप take her home?”
“Booth, I’m fine. Really. If I go anywhere it should be to the lab.”
“The body is too fleshy anyways,” Cam said. “I’ll have to do an autopsy before आप can even get your hands on the bones.”
“I could help आप with that.”
Shaking her head, Cam said, “No. I need आप to get some rest. In fact, why don’t आप come in late tomorrow? Around ten.”
“That’s not necessary.”
“I’m your boss. I say it is.”
“Come on, Bones,” Booth said.
When बोन्स still resisted, Booth took her hand and pulled her away from the crime scene. Very reluctantly, she followed him. She knew the moment, they were alone together, Booth would either press the issue या let it be. She didn’t know what would be worse.
Keeping her hand firmly in his, Booth towed her to his SUV. He had parked far away from the scene in a secluded area behind as outcropping of trees. He backed her into the passenger door. His lips were gentle as they moved over hers.
“We have a lot to talk about, Bones,” Booth कहा in a voice so low that she had to strain to hear. बोन्स had never been gifted in पढ़ना body language, so she had no way of knowing if this talk was going to be good या bad.
“Not now, Booth. Please, just take me home.”
“You’re right. We’ll finish this at your place.”
She nodded and solemnly reached for the car door. She got that same sinking feeling she got when someone was about to break up with her. She was almost always on the receiving end of the breakup. They would tell her while she was great in bed, they wanted someone prettier, thinner, dumber, या और emotionally opened. Booth knew her better than anyone and she was sure he knew he could do much better than her.
“Guys!” They turned around to see Sweets standing behind them. “Do आप think I could get a ride back? I rode with one of the techs and they कहा they’re going to be out here all night collecting evidence.”
Though Sweets was oblivious—or chose to ignore it—Booth looked like he could kill the young doctor.
“Get in,” Booth said, his voice bordering on a dangerous anger.
On the drive, बोन्स looked out the driver’s side window and away from Booth.
Eventually Sweets broke the silence. “You’ll never guess what happened to me this weekend. Someone TPed my house!” Sweets divided a meaningful look between them, but neither responded.
Despite herself, बोन्स smiled slightly and out of the corner of her eye, she saw that Booth was grinning, too.
“You can just drop me off at the Jeffersonian,” बोन्स said, trying to avoid Sweets’ comment.
“No, I’m taking आप home,” Booth said, clearly exasperated.
“No. I need to get my car,” बोन्स responded. She didn’t want to have this conversation now. She couldn’t भालू to lose him so soon. She would just put it off for one और day.
Booth turned to her and glared. He opened his mouth to protest, but before he could speak, Sweets popped up from the backseat.
“Am I sensing some tension?” he asked. “This is something we can address in our अगला session. We can also talk about how TPing can be considered destruction of private property. But frankly I’m और interested in this tension between the two of you. I think there are some serious underlying issues that must be discussed.”
“No!” Booth and बोन्स कहा simultaneously as they turned to him.
“O-okay,” Sweets कहा nervously, holding his hands up in surrender. “I can walk आप to your car, Dr. Brennan. I parked in the गेराज right अगला to it.”
“Thank you, Dr. Sweets,” बोन्स कहा because he’d just offered her a way to get out of her “talk” with Booth.
Sweets left the car and waited for her on the sidewalk in front of the Jeffersonian.
“When I offered to walk आप to your apartment the other night, आप refused,” Booth कहा under his breath.
“That was different,” she कहा and left Booth.
“As I recall that turned out fine!” Booth shouted at her as she shut the door behind her.
Everything inside of her, her brain—but और importantly, her heart—urged her to return to the car and at least get this over with. But luckily, Sweets was with her. If she ran back to the car, Sweets would definitely know that something was going on between her and Booth. Both Cam and Angela already knew. Not only would she be disappointed when whatever she and Booth had ended, but she would have to relive it when they asked her about it.
She parted with Sweets, who thankfully didn’t pose any of the सवालों she knew he was dying to ask. After she arrived at her apartment, she undressed and realized, and still didn’t know what had happened to her underwear. She showered, toweled off and slipped into बिस्तर without bothering with pajamas.
बोन्स had expected to stay awake for a long while, thinking and over thinking the last few days. But thankfully, she was soon pulled into sleep.
But she wasn’t alone for long.
He released the lock of her front door and slipped quietly inside her apartment. The rooms were dark, but he felt his way to her bedroom. The curtains were slightly opened, the moon casting a soft light over her sleeping form.
She sighed and shifted, turning over onto her back. The sheet covering her slipped down to reveal a soft, गुलाबी breast that was just begging to be caressed, kissed. Silently he removed his shoes and shucked his suit.
And then he joined her on the bed.
In one तत्पर, तेज, स्विफ्ट move, his body covered hers. Her eyes flew open wide and she stiffened beneath him. But when she recognized him, she relaxed and wrapped her arms around his naked back.
“How did आप get in here, Booth?”
“I’m FBI.” He cocked an eyebrow at her. “I have my ways.”
“You broke into my apartment,” she said, glaring at him.
“It’s nothing आप haven’t done. आप found me naked that time. And now I’m the one in for the treat.” He cupped her breast.
Her eyes closed briefly as she gave into the sensation of his hand over her. She quickly regained control of herself and asked, “I told आप I didn’t want to talk about this.”
Booth could tell she wanted to change the subject, but he wouldn’t let her. “Do आप want to know what I wanted to do with आप that night आप walk in on me while I was in the tub?”
“No.” Her response was icy, but her hands were playing over his shoulders, letting him know she did want to know.
“I wanted to pull आप into the tub with me. I know I’ve had आप in the shower, but I’d प्यार to be surrounded द्वारा आप and warm water.” He pressed his hardness into her belly, and she squirmed beneath him.
“Why are आप here?” she whispered, he was sure trying to stick to her no-more-sex policy.
“For this.” He nudged her thighs apart and entered her. “Just for . . . this,” he whispered, and then he pushed.
She gasped and tightened her long legs around him, and tilted to meet him for every thrust. Just before they were both about to climax, he bracketed her face with his hands, forcing her to look at him.
“I प्यार you,” he said.
“Booth?” she asked as if she couldn’t believe what he had said. Her eyes were brimming with tears.
“I प्यार you,” he repeated. “Do आप understand?”
She nodded as tears rolled down the cheeks. “I प्यार you, too.”
With that settled, Booth pulled her into his chest and smiled into the darkness. He’d finally कहा it. After four years of loving her, he had expressed it not only in words, but द्वारा the ultimate act of giving, becoming one.
“They might not let us be partners anymore,” बोन्स said, breaking the contented silence.
“It doesn’t matter.
“You aren’t going to ask me to marry आप या anything? आप know I don’t believe in that.”
“I think I can soften आप up to the idea.”
“Marriage is completely unrealistic.”
“Are we going to get into something here, Bones?”
She smiled up at him. “I think we are.”

*SPOILERS FOR SEASON FIVE of 'Bones' and SEASON SIX for 'House MD'*

On Sunday the 18th of April 2010, I shouted this statement at my television:

"OH MY GOD आप प्यार EACH OTHER JUST GET TOGETHER ALREADY!!!!"

What was I watching, आप may ask, that would cause such a violent verbal explosion? Episode 12 of season 5 of 'Bones', "The Proof In The Pudding", as Brennan and Booth leave the भोजन करनेवाला, डिनर at the end of the episode.

Normally, I don't yell at the fiction characters on my टेलीविज़न screen. There is little point because they can't hear me due to 1) they are inside my टेलीविज़न and 2) they are fictional....
