In the anime, I hear characters refer to Grell as male AND female. I think Grell is a girl, but I dunno.

^Ha, sorry I'm responding 2 months later. The creator of the मांगा stated that Grell was transgendered. And that's fine, for some it's something difficult to grasp, and that's fine as long as there's acceptance. The way Grell's gender is debated on sometimes just vexes me, since it's being transgendered is something very real, and other transgendered people are also described as just 'thinking' they're another gender, या that they 'want to.' Your genitals and physical anatomy can't define who आप are mentally, it's not black and white. ..At least, that's just my input. xD
