I would be happy that he finally confessed that. It would be horrible if I had been wondering why he doesn't act like he used to. I would think it's my fault, that I'm not good enough for him.
Now you both can find someone who's right for you

Know that it wasn't anything you did wrong, he probably had a hard time coming to terms with his sexual orientation and being honest with who he really was and how he really felt about it.

Just accept it. Getting angry at him would make things worse. Making fun if him would be rude and disrespectful..
It wouldn't mean that he doesn't love you. He just can't allow himself to form a romantic relationship with you. It's a complicated situation. I'm sure he would be just as upset and stressed as you would be, if not more so. Be sensitive. it's a big move for him.
