:T So, I hear Your An Otaku? :T

Well Im an Anime/Manga enthusiast never considered myself an otaku and never will I प्यार Anime/Manga As much as the अगला person या maybe even और but because of that I'm Going to Give आप a Guide To what the word REALLY means.

In Japan, the word can be most closely equated to the English word “geek,” but the meaning is not as simple as that. Otaku is also defined in जापान as a word that defines a person who has obsessive interests, and can apply to a wide variety of topics, including anime, manga, cosplay, collectibles and more.

Why Do They Take it The Wrong Way?

Often In जापान society people who are consider otaku are often seen as people who can't face reality that have no life so they turn to fictional characters.
Calling Yourself An Otaku In जापान Its Almost The Same As Asking For An Angry Mob Im Filipino btw . But I don't believe that theres a person in the world that loves ऐनीमे who only watches and reads ऐनीमे and मांगा is not interested in anything else (social life,sports,economics,art,etc.)

I'll be The Most Sentimental Person आप Ever Meet When It comes to it. But Obsession has a well guess it doesn't since it is called obsession like I've Actually Know a Girl Who got jumped for giving her opinion on someones obsession (best ऐनीमे in their whole world) Now I'm not saying anyone here would go this far , its just an example Just Chill Wid the whole it's my ऐनीमे not yours . ऐनीमे Belongs To Everybody and is here for everybody to enjoy

egyptprincess7 Japan does indeed look pretty much down on Otakus. That's why I prefer just to call myself a fan or to the extreme a fangirl. Otherwise I can't consider myself an otaku due to how they're treated in Japan. (Not to mention this one anime shows the treatment of them so yeah.) Anyways nice article.

x-Yumi-x3 I already knew this, but even before I never called myself an otaku. Mainly because I've never seen myself as a extreme anime fan.

dontmindmeyo The reason I personally dislike the word is not only because it is gross and misused, but also because it reminds me of something called The Otaku Murders, which is pretty much what it sounds like. I don't know [i]why[/i] people take it as a complement when it's the name of a disgusting murder case, but it really makes me angry how often it's used. (If you look up the case, prepare yourself. It's not just murder this guy did...)

ChadKumada Otaku. I could almost use that name to describe myself. Although I have many other obsessions besides anime, so perhaps it wouldn't be the best word to use.
