It took me awhile but I made it to the point where I only sit on objects and not people and talk at rate that is somewhat understandable. One of my friends has been on medication sense she was six and when she went off in for a month no one could stand to be around her, not even me. She had no control.
ADD/ADHD is not the problem, the problem is that people interpret it as a problem that must the medicated.
Some medications have a withdrawal stage. I take Adderal only on days I have school and often have severe mood swings. The first 1 or 2 weeks without it I suffer from anxiety attacks and slight paranoia. After the withdrawal stage, though I still have mood swings, I settle down.
Also bipolar disorder is very common in children with ADD/ADHD. That may be part of it. Most people grow out of it, some don't.
Have you ever tried any other medication? Different medicines work for different people.
I've taken Ritalin before and hated it. Many other people I've talked to said the same thing so I wouldn't recommend that. It made me super paranoid and self-conscious. I wouldn't talk to anyone. It kept my grades A+'s, but I had no social life and no desire to have one.
Now I'm on Adderal, and, though it has it's problems, it is so much better than Ritalin. I do talk to people now. My grades changed from A+'s to A's and B's but it was worth it.
Something else I've tried, though it didn't work for me personally it worked for a friend of mine, is Attend. It's more natural than some of other medications.
sertraline 200mg
